An Obsidian plugin that fills your notes with names, inns, settlements, loot and more for any tabletop RPG or world, and lets you build your own generators from plain notes.
Called Fantasy Content Generator before 1.6.0. The plugin id is still fantasy-content-generator.
| Page | Read it when you want to… |
|---|---|
| Getting started | use the generator panel, @ in notes and the starter sets |
| Writing generators | make your own generator from a note |
| Pattern reference | look up every {…} rule, with examples |
| The @ list in patterns | know why @ writes a key while you write a pattern |
| Build a village | build a village, its buildings and owners as linked notes with Templater |
| API for scripts | call the generators from Templater or another plugin |
| Starter sets and languages | see every name set, the races it covers and how its names are made |
| Key | Makes |
|---|---|
@InnsTaverns |
an inn: name, description and three rumours |
@Settlement |
a settlement: name, population and type |
@DungeonsLabyrinths |
a dungeon name and description |
@Drinks |
a drink |
@LootTreasure |
a handful of loot (and sometimes coins) |
@Metals |
a metal |
@Ship |
a ship's name |
@PlotStoryHooks |
a plot hook |
The word lists behind most of these can be changed in the plugin's settings. Make it your own in the generator panel copies one into a note you can edit.
