A week-by-week record of training with S-Bike Training Hub, written by the rider it was built for. Each week covers how the rides went, how the software got used, what we measured, and whether anything is actually getting better.

Week 3: More Volume, Then a Cold · October 11, 2026
6 hours across 9 sessions, about 60% more than the week before, two runs back, a look at where the work actually lands on the body, and then a cold.
Week 2: Learning to Trust the Plan · October 3, 2026
The recorded swims, cycling and strength work—and the honest difficulty of trusting a lighter recovery workload when I feel capable of more.
From the Outset to a Training Companion · October 3, 2026
An illustrated walk through the Hub’s first public release and MCP versions: what changed, why, and the latest fixes, test guides, artwork and update notices.
From Bike Bridge to Training Companion · October 1, 2026
The earlier account of planning with load, recording how the work felt, and learning from recovery.
| Week | Dates | The story |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sep 21–27, 2026 | From zero: 8½ hours, 14 sessions, no rest day, and a body that said so. |
| 2 | Sep 28–Oct 4, 2026 · through Oct 3 | Learning to trust the plan: feeling capable of more, recording deviations, and reviewing the recovery workload. |
| 3 | Oct 5–11, 2026 | More volume, then a cold: 6 hours, two runs back, calves and feet carrying most of the load, and two days off sick. |
- 🏃 Rose Bowl 5K, Jan 17, 2027. Surf City 5K, Feb 7, as the second shot. Then triathlon.
- 🚴 The bike is a Merach S29, running through the hub: offline 3D routes, virtual hills and gears, auto-shifting, ERG workouts, and a phone on the handlebars.
- 📚 The plan is Joe Friel's base training. Lots of easy riding in zones 1–2 builds the engine before anything hard.

| ⚡ Every ride, from the watts | Time in each power zone, normalized power, training load, calories from real work, personal bests (5 s / 1 / 5 / 20 min), and fitness, fatigue and form. |
| ⌚ The watch (COROS Pace 4) | Heart rate, plus the runs, swims, gym and sleep. |
| 🧭 Every morning (from week 2) | A 6-minute diagnostic at the same watts every day. Heart rate, legs and breathing are scored, and the verdict is go, easy or rest. |
