Reading list

The books behind the thinking in the hub. The ideas are described here in our own words; read the books for the real thing.

Why it's on the list
📘 Joe Friel, The Triathlete's Training Bible (5th edition, 2024) Base training: lots of easy aerobic work before anything hard. The plan I'm following.
📗 Michael Boyle, New Functional Training for Sports (2nd edition, 2016) Progressions and regressions: earn the next step, step back when you're not recovered. The hub's skill ladders work this way.
📙 Kelly Starrett with Glen Cordoza, Becoming a Supple Leopard Mobility and positions: moving well before loading heavy.
📙 Kelly Starrett with T.J. Murphy, Ready to Run (2014) Recovery and readiness for runners: the body has to be ready before the mileage.
📕 Scott Hogan, Built from Broken: A Science-Based Guide to Healing Painful Joints, Preventing Injuries, and Rebuilding Your Body Joints, tendons and connective tissue adapt to stress: controlled loading as part of healing, not just rest.

The research the models build on

The hub's README lists the published work behind its formulas: Banister's fitness-fatigue model, Coggan's TSS/NP, Carter's daily stress stimulus for bone, Williams' EWMA workload ratio, Skiba's W′ balance, Foster's session RPE, and the cross-training studies (Millet et al. 2002; Tanaka 1994). See Credits in the README.
