Releases: JIRPOS/PathOfPriceCheck

v0.7.23

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Aug 00:16

CHANGED: an unidentified unique on a base that rolls into two uniques of the same name now asks
which one it is, instead of naming and pricing the other unique that drops on that base. An
unidentified Topaz Flask was read as a Vessel of Vinktar, a Crystal Wand as a Corona Solaris and a
Primal Arrow Quiver as a Poised Prism; four more bases said no unique dropped on them at all. The
fix is in the game data, so it arrives with the next data release and needs no update.

What's Changed

  • Bug Resolution Additions by @JIRPOS in #46
  • The report relay has brakes, and they count nobody's address by @JIRPOS in #47
  • An unidentified unique on a base with two of one name is still a question by @JIRPOS in #48

v0.7.22

  • Fixed a synthesised weapon or armour piece (e.g. a synthesised Sceptre) failing to resolve its base, so pricing it now works the same as any other base.
  • Fixed a Heist Gear item showing its own printed instructions ("Any Heist member can equip this item.", "Can only be equipped to Heist members.") as unrecognised modifiers.
  • Fixed a Heist Contract affix with no roll at all (e.g. "Monsters are Hexproof", "The Ring takes no Cut") showing as an unrecognised modifier, in both price check and map check.

What's Changed

  • A relayed report can be pulled into a local inbox and closed out again by @JIRPOS in #44
  • A synthesised base resolves under its bare name, and Heist Gear's own lines are not modifiers by @JIRPOS in #45

CHANGED: A Heist contract or blueprint is now searched on the jobs it requires, at the levels it
requires them, rather than on what its target is worth. The job requirements come pre-ticked as
minimums — a contract asking for Deception (Level 5) searches for Deception 5 and up — and the
objective's value is offered as a row you can tick instead of being asked for.

ADDED: Map check works on heist contracts and blueprints. The hotkey opens on one, rates its
modifiers as it rates a map's, and remembers them in the same profile — so a modifier you have
already decided about on a map is decided about here too where the game words it the same way.

ADDED: A heist item's own numbers in the popup: the client, the target and its value, the area
level, quantity and rarity, alert level reduction, time before lockdown and maximum alive
reinforcements. The job levels it demands are folded onto one line rather than one sentence
apiece, and a requirement your character cannot meet still says so.

CHANGED: The verdict banner no longer calls everything a map, since it now sits over contracts
and charts as well.

What's Changed

  • chore: version 0.7 by @github-actions[bot] in #41
  • A heist item is priced on the jobs it asks for, not on what sits at the end by @JIRPOS in #42
  • A heist area is a pool like a map's, so map check reads one by @JIRPOS in #43

v0.7.20

ADDED: The status indicator over the mana globe can be turned off, under Settings > General > Appearance. It is on by default, and turning it off changes nothing else about a price check.
CHANGED: The outline around the indicator's text is light grey instead of black, so it stays readable when the mana globe is dark — spent, or fully reserved.

ADDED: Ctrl+Shift+D over a map opens a popup listing every modifier it rolled and the verdict you gave each, with the rating control on the spot — a click walks a modifier through safe, dangerous and deadly, a right-click puts it back to unrated.
ADDED: A single line leads that popup with the strongest thing true of the map. One deadly modifier decides it however much it is outnumbered.
ADDED: Rating tables are profiles you make, copy and delete. The one in use is picked in the popup or in Settings and is remembered until you change it.
ADDED: A Map check tab in Settings lists every modifier a map can roll, searchable, for the one sitting where you pre-fill the table rather than filling it in by playing.
ADDED: That list takes Path of Exile's own item-search syntax — quoted terms, ! for what you refuse, real regular expressions, and anchors that hold to a printed line. A ? beside the box says so in examples.
ADDED: A map search string you already use can be turned into verdicts across the whole list at once, shown first as the rows it would write and saved only when you accept them.
ADDED: A verdict is about a whole modifier, however many lines it prints, and holds for every modifier that carries those lines. Implicits are rated like anything else.
REMOVED: Switching profile automatically to match the character you are playing, which the plan listed as a maybe. The game's log never names the character you selected, and the lines that do carry a name name your party as readily as you, so there is nothing to switch on. The profile you pick is remembered instead.

What's Changed

  • The plan and the version line agree again, and map check has a design by @JIRPOS in #39
  • The status indicator is a choice, and it is legible against a spent globe by @JIRPOS in #38
  • A map is read for the modifiers you decided you cannot take by @JIRPOS in #40

ADDED: The config file and the debug log named in Settings open the folder they live in when you click them.
CHANGED: Settings writes those paths starting at ~ (or %APPDATA% on Windows) instead of spelling out your home directory. The whole path is still there on hover.

What's Changed

  • What this tool shows of itself, and what it shows of you by @JIRPOS in #36
  • Stylistic changes to the site and the documents it publishes by @JIRPOS in #37

ADDED: Report a Bug on the price-check panel, for a check that read an item wrong — an
unmatched modifier, the wrong base, a search that asked for the wrong thing.

  • It opens a dialog that shows you the whole report before it goes anywhere: the item text the
game copied, everything this tool made of it, the version line, a box to describe the problem,
and a screenshot you can attach or not. What is on that screen is what is sent, and nothing is
    sent until you press Send.
  • The report is anonymous. There is no login, no identifier of you or your machine, and nothing
kept on disk afterwards. Reports go to a small relay of the project's own, described in full in
    PRIVACY.md.
  • The screenshot is a picture of this tool's own window and nothing else — the game behind it is
not in it and cannot be, and every seller's name in a search result is replaced by its position
before the picture is taken. The box starts unticked either way.
  • If it is sent you get a report id; if it fails the dialog stays open with the reason, so nothing
    you typed is lost.

CHANGED: Search and Open in browser are now icons at the right of the panel rather than two
labelled buttons, which is what makes room for the third.

What's Changed

  • A price check can report itself, and the dialog is the disclosure by @JIRPOS in #35

v0.6.17

CHANGED: A unique whose modifier rolls one of a list — the minion type The Dark Monarch doubles, the skill gem Replica Dragonfang's Flight raises — is recognised and searched on the one it actually rolled, instead of being reported as an unrecognised modifier.

CHANGED: A modifier that spells out its alternatives, like Bound Fate's "Every 5 seconds, gain one of the following", is read as the single modifier it is rather than as seven unrecognised lines.

CHANGED: A modifier that rolls one of a list is now ticked as one of a pool, so the search asks for the copy that rolled it, and no longer says the unique's modifier data has never heard of it.

What's Changed

  • chore: version 0.6 by @github-actions[bot] in #33
  • A roll can be a name, and a modifier can be longer than the join reached by @JIRPOS in #34

v0.6.16

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Aug 19:22

CHANGED: The idle version marker sits lower on the mana globe, so the extra line it grows when an update is waiting stays on the globe instead of spilling onto the interface below it.

ADDED: A code of conduct.

CHANGED: The slider in a filter's range editor now reaches past what your copy of the modifier
rolled, instead of stopping at it. The range the game printed is marked by two ticks on the track,
so it is still clear which numbers are the item's and which are yours, and dragging a little better
or a little worse than the roll no longer means typing.

CHANGED: A row whose modifier rolls a single number gets a real track to drag on, and keeps the
ticks that say so.

CHANGED: A knob released hard against an end grows the track by a quarter of its length rather than
a fifth, so it takes fewer pulls to get somewhere.

ADDED: Expedition Logbooks are priced. Copy one and the panel reads it as what it is — an
expedition that can go to up to three different places, one of which you will pick.

Each destination is a line of its own: the faction whose land it is, in bold, and the area it
leads to underneath. Pick one and the search is about that destination; the others stay on screen
with where they lead, one click away. That is the whole point of it — a logbook with a valuable
faction on it is worth what that faction is worth, and asking the trade site for all three
destinations at once finds the single copy in the league that happens to lead to that exact trio.

The chosen destination brings its area and the modifiers that apply there as rows you can switch
on; neither is on by default, because a buyer choosing a faction is rarely choosing the area with
it. The area level is searched, as a floor — an 83 answers a search for an 80. The item level, and
the quantity, rarity and pack size a magic or rare book grants, are offered but left off: unlike
a map, a logbook is not run for those. The affixes it prints below its destinations sit under the
section at the foot of the list, the way a map's do — a currency re-rolls them, so they are not
what the book is bought for, but they are still one tick away when they are the question.

ADDED: QuickPaste. Alt+V opens your saved snippets at the cursor — a map regex, a vendor
search, the whisper you send twenty times an evening. Click one or press its number and it is on
your clipboard. It does not press Ctrl+V for you: you paste it yourself, in the field you meant, at
your own time.

ADDED: the number keys go by the key's position, so the top row picks a paste whatever your
layout prints on it.

ADDED: nine at a time, because that is how many number keys there are. Keep as many as you like —
the ones beyond nine are simply switched off until you switch something else off. Nothing to read,
nothing refused.

ADDED: a QuickPaste tab in Settings to write them, drag them into the order you want them
offered in, and switch them in and out. Adding and editing happen in a dialog; nothing is kept
until you Save, so a delete you did not mean is undone by closing Settings.

ADDED: the popup opens at your cursor, growing down, up, or from somewhere between the two,
whichever fits.

CHANGED: no panel of ours stays on screen when you alt-tab to another application, and one that
was open takes the keyboard again when you come back to the game.

CHANGED: a config.json that has been edited by hand into something unreadable no longer stops
the tool from starting. It keeps what it could read and defaults the rest.

What's Changed

  • The idle marker lands on the glass, and the repo picks a side on codes of conduct by @JIRPOS in #29
  • The slider's track reaches past the tier, and the ticks carry the claim by @JIRPOS in #30
  • A logbook is three items at once, and the search asks about one of them by @JIRPOS in #31
  • A hotkey opens the pastes you keep, and the number key is a position by @JIRPOS in #32

CHANGED: A range slider's knob dragged hard against either end now comes back with room to keep
going, instead of sticking to the corner and having to be dragged past the track again.

CHANGED: On a filter whose numbers have decimals, pegging a knob no longer flings it most of the
way across the track.

CHANGED: The Windows executable no longer packs its fonts and icon into compressed blobs it
unpacks at startup, and now declares itself to Windows the way a normal application does — both
to reduce the chance Microsoft Defender flags the unsigned download as malware.

What's Changed

  • chore: version 0.4 by @github-actions[bot] in #27
  • A pegged knob gets room, and the exe stops looking packed by @JIRPOS in #28

ADDED: Settings is split into three tabs — General, Price check and Application — with the title and its close button always at the top and Save always at the bottom.

ADDED: Reduce transparency, under Appearance, draws the panels solid instead of letting the game show through them.

CHANGED: Settings is drawn in Path of Exile's own colours and control style, so it reads as part of the game rather than a window over it.

CHANGED: the application looks for a new version and new game data while you play, not only when it starts, so a session that runs all day still finds out that an update exists.

CHANGED: an AppImage is no longer told it cannot update itself when it can.

CHANGED: when a copy really cannot update itself, the notice says which of the three reasons it is rather than always blaming permissions.

CHANGED: everything you read names the application Path of Price Check.

ADDED: every filter row that carries a number can be set by hand. Click the row and a slider opens
under it with both ends on one track, the two bounds as typed numbers, a reset and a confirm.

ADDED: the slider does not stop at what your copy rolled. Drag a knob past an end and it keeps
going; release it hard against one and the track grows to give you more room. Where the game
published a range, two ticks stay behind marking it, so you can always see what the item itself
can do.

ADDED: the filters a search deliberately leaves out — a map's affixes, a beast's monster
modifiers, an ultimatum's hazards other than the two that matter — are now a collapsed section at
the foot of the list instead of nothing. Tick one to send it anyway. Collapsed again on every
check.

ADDED: a linked item is searched on its sockets and its links. Six sockets and a six-link were no
part of the price before, which on a chest is most of what it is worth. At four or fewer of either
the question is offered under that same section rather than imposed, since a three-link is the
ordinary case.

CHANGED: nothing is sent until you press Search, and no edit survives the item.

What's Changed

  • Settings looks like the game, and updates are looked for while you play by @JIRPOS in #25
  • The filter list becomes yours to change by @JIRPOS in #26
