IKEMaker 0.79.20

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 28 Sep 13:23

IKEMaker 0.79.20 — Standalone palette-library settings fix

  • Fixes Choose Folder in Palette Workspace when no VS Code workspace is open.
  • Saves the palette library per workspace folder when the asset belongs to one.
  • Saves it at workspace level when a workspace is open but the asset is outside a folder.
  • Falls back to user settings for standalone files when no workspace is open.
  • Applies the same no-workspace-safe preference target to SFF naming/build-profile and external image/audio editor choices.
  • Remembers the last successfully used Load Palettes / Images source folder across VS Code restarts, including standalone-file use with no workspace open.
  • Cancelling that picker keeps the prior location; a missing folder is ignored safely and no palette is imported automatically.
  • Adds Choose Palette Files beside Choose Folder so any number of ACT/indexed-PNG files can enter the same reorderable Append/Insert review without changing the saved library folder.
  • Manually selected outside files are session-bound and exact-path checked; merely choosing them does not alter the SFF or staged build plan.
  • All 339 automated test files pass.

IKEMaker 0.79.19 — Palette Workspace

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 28 Sep 07:03

Highlights

  • Adds the unified Palette Workspace for characters, stages, screenpacks, fight UI, exact SFF archives, and standalone ACT/indexed PNG palettes.
  • Adds reorderable multi-palette Append and Insert Before workflows for any valid batch size.
  • Preserves other groups, gaps, linked palettes, source identity, and the active SFF until the reviewed SprMaker2 build is completed.
  • Detects exact RGBA duplicates without silently merging or deleting them.
  • Audits affected authored palette references and identifies dynamic references that require manual review.
  • Verifies built palette IDs, colors, aliases, and sprite assignments against the reviewed plan.
  • Includes the AIR navigation, frame-edit persistence, viewer tint, and Screenpack generated-pattern corrections from 0.79.12 through 0.79.18.

Downloads

  • VSIX: manual IKEMaker installation or update.
  • Windows Offline: for computers that already have VS Code.
  • Windows Online Bootstrap: can obtain VS Code when needed.
  • With-LuaLS variants: the matching Offline and Online packages with the optional reviewed Lua Language Server payload. LuaLS remains opt-in.

All 336 automated test files pass.

IKEMaker 0.79.9 — Critical AIR Viewer Hotfix

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 27 Sep 13:41

IKEMaker 0.79.9

This is a critical AIR viewer hotfix for 0.79.8.

Fixed

  • AIR animations display again. A page-assembly ordering regression could omit required AIR-only controls and stop viewer startup before the animation model rendered.
  • Open SFF works from the AIR viewer again and uses the approved green SFF/sprite destination color.
  • Generated-page regression coverage now requires the shared toolbar, AIR connected-viewer route, GIF-to-AIR and AIR Log controls, and Open SFF binding to survive final page generation.
  • No AIR, SFF, character, stage, or game file migration is required.

Deferred viewer-layout requirements

  • Resizable viewer height with a bottom splitter is recorded for future implementation.
  • Every viewer must eventually allow whole-editor vertical scrolling so users can move the preview above the viewport and work comfortably with all controls below it.
  • These layout requirements are documented but are not claimed as implemented in 0.79.9.

Packages

  • Windows Offline is for systems that already have VS Code.
  • Windows Online Bootstrap installs the official signed VS Code user build only when VS Code is absent.
  • Standard packages do not contain LuaLS.
  • Clearly labeled With-LuaLS packages contain the reviewed LuaLS 3.19.1 VSIX behind an explicit optional choice.
  • The raw IKEMaker VSIX never contains or automatically requests LuaLS.

Verification

  • All 325 source test files pass.
  • All five artifacts identify version 0.79.9.
  • Every ZIP contains the exact verified release VSIX.
  • LuaLS is absent from both standard packages and present only in the two labeled variants.

IKEMaker 0.79.8 Tester Beta

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 27 Sep 12:33

IKEMaker 0.79.8

This beta advances Phase 1 authoring while preserving classic MUGEN, custom-parser, and project-specific conventions. The complete 325-file source test suite passes. Installed visual interaction and engine behavior remain separate human-verification steps where noted below.

Command & Movelist

  • Timeline insertion, replacement, removal, and reordering patch only the selected input step instead of reformatting the entire command.
  • Authored separators, tabs, spaces, comments, unknown/custom fields, omitted defaults, neighboring definitions, and mixed CRLF/LF/CR line endings are preserved.
  • Direction insertion remains an explicit author choice; IKEMaker does not force absolute or facing-relative policy.
  • The nested displayed-movelist editor supports glyph insertion and direct source editing without normalizing untouched text.
  • CMD, INP, and JNP entry follows the active dirty document and caret. Duplicate definitions use exact occurrence identity.
  • Shared command files report every real owning character and ask the user when ownership is ambiguous.
  • Glyph and parser diagnostics remain advisory; they never rewrite or block authored content.

Move Lab component context

  • Move Lab now discovers exact assigned StateDefs, ZSS functions, direct HitDefs, Helpers, Explods, and native Projectiles.
  • Each component is bound to the character DEF, exact source file and hash, exact range and range hash, kind, index, and enclosing StateDef/function.
  • Nested execution paths and literal Root, Parent, and P2 receivers are shown as context rather than guessed ownership.
  • Assigned AIR actions are selected explicitly and revalidated before opening the established AIR/Clsn workspace. State and controller numbers are never substituted as animation guesses.
  • Direct HitDefs summarize authored classic damage, pause, stun, slide, velocity, acceleration, spark fields, and additional custom options. The guarded HitDef editor remains the sole mutation owner.
  • Helper and Explod routes delegate to their established specialist tools. Native Projectile remains exact-source navigation until a dedicated guarded editor exists.

Shared navigation and presentation

  • Added one accessible destination-color registry across recognized AIR, SFF, SND, code, Maps, Move Lab, palette, stage, screenpack/UI, and Help routes.
  • Destination colors can be disabled without changing labels, keyboard focus, navigation, or files.
  • Stage and Screenpack workspaces can navigate selected elements to exact SFF sprites or embedded AIR actions while their existing editors retain mutation ownership.
  • Move Lab help and the Phase 1 backlog now state component ownership, handoff rules, completed source coverage, and remaining installed QA precisely.

Packages and updating

  • Windows Offline is for systems that already have VS Code.
  • Windows Online Bootstrap installs the official signed VS Code user build only when VS Code is absent.
  • Standard packages do not contain LuaLS.
  • Clearly labeled With-LuaLS packages contain the reviewed LuaLS 3.19.1 VSIX behind an explicit optional choice.
  • The raw IKEMaker VSIX never contains or automatically requests LuaLS.
  • Existing installations can use IKEMaker: Check for Updates; older installations can rerun the Offline package.

Verification boundary

  • All 325 source test files pass.
  • All five release artifacts were checked for exact 0.79.8 identity, nested VSIX equality, required native builders, current documentation, correct installer selection, internal checksums, and LuaLS presence only in the two labeled variants.
  • Installed-package interaction testing remains open for ordinary Constants zoom, exact Move Lab component handoffs, AIR/Clsn workflows, shared-source warnings, and both optional LuaLS installer choices.
  • No IKEMEN GO engine, MUGEN executable, game, character, stage, private workspace, or credentials are included.

IKEMaker 0.79.6 Tester Beta

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 27 Sep 10:43

IKEMaker 0.79.6

This release expands IKEMaker's authoring workflow while keeping source code, drafts, Undo, and normal Save behavior authoritative.

Move Lab

  • Move Lab can now discover, open, and edit exact assigned CNS/ZSS StateDefs and ZSS Functions—not only attacks.
  • Ordinary movement, guard, get-hit, recovery, custom states, and shared functions work without requiring a HitDef, JNP constants profile, AIR, or SFF.
  • Equal state numbers and duplicate names are kept distinct by character, file, source snapshot, signature, and exact block range.
  • State/function drafts survive switching and failures, detect stale source, preserve newer typing, and never silently jump to another block.
  • Retained orphan drafts remain visible for manual copying or explicit discard.
  • Shared sources are identified, and the contextual Maps browser is available from the selected code block.
  • Direct HitDefs and optional constants profiles remain in the same Moves / Overview workflow.

AIR and animation editing

  • Added visible New Action, Duplicate Action, Delete Selected, frame reordering, and reviewed batch Clsn2 editing.
  • Text and visual AIR workflows share the same guarded Clsn2 proposal and Apply path.
  • Transition suggestions, custom roles, exclusions, inherited defaults, dirty-source checks, and one-step Undo behavior were tightened.

Command and movelist authoring

  • Expanded command timeline, direction, and reusable preset authoring.
  • Added a Source / Visual Editor for loaded movelist glyphs with real sprite previews, conservative unknown-token handling, and exact source preservation.

Player Palette Workshop

  • Player mode now includes focused palette preview, add, replace, create, edit, export, and palette-folder access.
  • Broader SFF and code-authoring tools remain outside Player mode.

Explod Composer

  • CNS output now preserves facing, palette ownership/remap, transparency, hit-pause, remove-on-hit options, and timeline Create events alongside Modify, Bind, and Remove.
  • Reviewed generation identity prevents inserting output that changed after it was displayed.

Viewer and workflow corrections

  • Corrected Move Lab P2 zoom drift and standardized fighter/coordinate viewer grids.
  • Improved exact component routing, return context, retained drafts, source-conflict handling, and same-panel navigation.
  • Updated the source and next-week Phase 1 handoff without starting Phase 2, Flow Mode, tournament mode, or website work.

The standard Offline and Online packages do not include LuaLS. The clearly labeled With-LuaLS variants include the reviewed Lua Language Server package behind an explicit optional installer choice. The raw VSIX never includes LuaLS.

Installed interaction and engine behavior still need hands-on testing where noted in IKEMaker. Specialized Helper/Explod/projectile Move Lab views, embedded AIR/Clsn controls, Stage/Screenpack contextual editing, CMD caret/owner routing, destination colors, contextual Help, and final installed-package QA remain scheduled Phase 1 work.

IKEMaker 0.78.5 Tester Beta

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 26 Sep 20:33

What changed

  • Added a focused Palette Workshop to Player Mode for previewing, creating, editing, importing, exporting, adding, and replacing character palettes without exposing general character-authoring tools.
  • Added explicit ACT palette table-order controls, including the Reversed Photoshop method, with separate one-time and remembered choices.
  • Added the Personal Example Shelf for reusable, owner-aware ZSS, CNS, and Lua examples.
  • Corrected the JNP Move Constants Player 2 reaction-preview transform so zoom and resizing preserve authored positions.
  • Added a browser-safe fallback for every Player Palette command and corrected the embedded browser version display.

Which download should I choose?

  • Windows Offline ZIP: IKEMaker-only package for systems that already have VS Code.
  • Windows Offline With-LuaLS ZIP: the same offline package with the optional Lua Language Server companion available during installation.
  • Windows Online Bootstrap ZIP: IKEMaker-only package that can obtain official VS Code when necessary.
  • Windows Online Bootstrap With-LuaLS ZIP: the same bootstrap package with the optional LuaLS companion.
  • VSIX: raw IKEMaker extension for manual installation or the verified updater. It does not contain or request LuaLS.

This remains a tester beta. The complete source suite passed all 309 test files. The five artifacts were checked for version identity, embedded-VSIX equality, optional LuaLS separation, the pinned LuaLS hash, and public-name hygiene. No package contains IKEMEN GO, MUGEN, characters, stages, private workspace files, or credentials.

IKEMaker 0.78.1 Tester Beta

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 26 Sep 04:12

What changed

  • Lua Language Server is no longer an automatic dependency. Standard Windows packages omit it entirely.
  • Clearly labeled With-LuaLS packages include the reviewed companion VSIX behind an explicit [y/N] choice that defaults to no.
  • Upgrading IKEMaker does not remove or disable a Lua extension already installed, and this patch does not repair LuaLS environment diagnostics.
  • Optional opponent-guard advice is now an identified-author rule, off by default. It applies only to actual P2, ... redirects—not p2dist, p2life, p2stateno, or similar triggers—and treats P2's persistent selected-opponent behavior as contextual guidance rather than a game error.
  • Browsable source, tests, build scripts, documentation, and public build inputs are now committed directly to this repository. The historical v0.78.0 tag remains unchanged; v0.78.1 identifies the reviewed source commit for this release.

Which download should I choose?

  • Windows Offline ZIP: IKEMaker-only package for systems that already have VS Code.
  • Windows Offline With-LuaLS ZIP: the same offline package with the optional LuaLS companion available during installation.

The complete source suite passed all 302 test files, and the final source and artifact inventories received independent review. No package contains IKEMEN GO, MUGEN, characters, stages, private workspace files, or credentials.

IKEMaker 0.78.0 Tester Beta

Pre-release

@JustNoPoint JustNoPoint released this 26 Sep 01:36
cfa66af

IKEMaker 0.78.0 Tester Beta

IKEMaker is designed and directed by JustNoPoint (JNP), with OpenAI Codex used extensively for coding, review, testing assistance, and documentation. AI assistance does not mean every feature is verified.

This is a public tester beta. Use independent backups and verify the active project, character, and file before applying edits.

Highlights

  • Results-first Project Maps browser with current-file, character, template, assigned-runtime, and combined scopes.
  • Direct AIR timeline editing and missing-sprite issue navigation.
  • Consistent fighter/coordinate viewer grids and safer drag, zoom, and nested-source behavior.
  • Project-aware IKEMEN build tracking, Nightly review, backup, migration, and rollback tools.
  • Separate user-controlled IKEMaker beta update channel with explicit review, size/hash checks, and no silent installation.

Downloads

  • IKEMaker-0.78.0-Windows-Offline.zip — for users who already have VS Code.
  • IKEMaker-0.78.0-Windows-Online-Bootstrap.zip — installs VS Code from Microsoft if it is absent.
  • ikemen-zss-tools-0.78.0.vsix — direct VSIX for manual installation and verified updater delivery.
  • IKEMaker-0.78.0-Source.zip — complete reviewed source snapshot, tests, build scripts, bundled release inputs, and reproducible build instructions.

Both tester ZIPs include IKEMaker, the official Lua Language Server VSIX, SprMaker2, SndMaker, SFF2PNG, required runtimes, offline documentation, licenses, beta notes, and checksums. They do not include IKEMEN GO, MUGEN, game content, characters, stages, private workspace files, or credentials.

The source archive excludes development caches, previous package extractions, node_modules, and private game/workspace directories.

Known limits

  • JNP Move Constants may visually shift the Player 2 reaction-preview axis when zoom changes.
  • Accessibility, unusual layouts, clean-machine installation, and specialist workflows still need broader human testing.
  • See BETA-NOTES.txt inside either tester ZIP for planned additions and recovery instructions.
