Guildrun Targeting Preview v2.5.2
Mod updated for 0.5.6 Guildrun Version.
- The preview works again. 0.5.6 changed how the game picks a fight's random seed, the mod was still
working it out the old way, and it switched the preview off believing it disagreed with the fight. - The mod no longer keeps its own copy of that calculation, so the same kind of change should not
reach anyone again. - A hero preview could be served from the cache after the fight underneath it had been reseeded.
- Two disagreements in a row now count properly instead of being reset by restarting the game.
Nothing here changes the fight. A run played with the mod on still cannot submit a score and still
does not move your Red Rift win streak in either direction, and switching the mod off in the main
menu gives you both back.
Updating
Take Mod only, drop its Mods folder into your Guildrun Demo folder (Steam: right click the
game > Manage > Browse local files), replace when Windows asks, and restart the game. Your
settings, your shortcuts and your progress are kept.
Download
| With MelonLoader | If you have never installed a mod for this game. It contains everything. |
| Mod only | If you already have MelonLoader, including if you are updating. |
Blocked by your browser or antivirus? That is version.dll, which is MelonLoader and not this mod.
Here is the fix.
Every feature, every setting and what each one looks like: the mod's page.
Guildrun Targeting Preview v2.5.1
Everything below is new since v2.2.0, the last version published here.
New
- Attacks that hit several units draw an arrow to each one. Funke, Ming and Tilly.
- Cleave is drawn. The Dragons strike every Hero standing next to the one they attack, and you
now see which of your heroes catch it where they are standing. - A button and a shortcut for the ability areas (G), to put the dashed outlines away.
- The mod tells you when a new version is out, in the main menu, and opens the download for you.
- Every button remembers how you left it, the preview included.
- Attack arrows always start where units will be standing. The arrow origin button is gone and
F no longer does anything ; the old behaviour isArrowsFromGhostsin the settings file. - Attack Range granted by a rank modifier or a specialization widens the picture straight away.
Fixed
- A hero's ability now gets the red border when it is out of position.
- Every hero ability is judged correctly now. Some could never report a problem at all, whatever
you did with the board. - The huge circle around the Dragons is gone. It was their breath, which nobody can step out of,
so it invited a dodge that does not exist. - Targeting no longer stops showing at random.
- Moving a hero hides the old hex's arrows straight away.
Nothing here changes the fight. A run played with the mod on still cannot submit a score and still
does not move your Red Rift win streak in either direction, and switching the mod off in the main
menu gives you both back : your next run scores in Endless and counts for the streak. A run the mod
was already on for is not rescued by switching off part way through.
Updating
Same drag as the install : take Mod only, drop its Mods folder into your Guildrun Demo folder
(Steam: right click the game > Manage > Browse local files), replace when Windows asks, and
restart the game. Your settings, your shortcuts and your progress are kept, and MelonLoader is
byte for byte the one v2.2.0 shipped.

Guildrun Targeting Preview v2.2.0
Everything below is new since v2.1.0.
Red Rift win streak
Playing with the mod on can no longer cost you your Red Rift streak. It is frozen for that run : a win does not advance it, and a loss or an abandon does not reset it. Whatever your streak was, it is still there when you switch the mod off and go for a real one.
While dragging a hero
The preview no longer shows the answer for the hex you have just left. If the new hex takes long enough to work out that you would notice, the arrows clear until it is ready. On a fast machine nothing changes.
Updating from an older version
Nothing to uninstall, and nothing you have is lost. It is the same drag as a fresh install: download Mod only below, drop its Mods folder into your Guildrun Demo folder (Steam: right click the game > Manage > Browse local files), and say yes when Windows asks to replace the file. If the game is open, restart it, because the new file is only read when the game starts.
The mod is a single file replaced in place, so nothing from the old version is left behind, and your settings, your shortcuts and your progress are kept : the zip carries no settings file. You already have MelonLoader and this update does not change it, it is byte for byte the same loader v2.1.0 shipped.
Not sure you still have MelonLoader? Take the full zip instead, which is just as safe over an existing install.

Guildrun Targeting Preview v2.1.0
Everything below is new since v1.2.1, the last version that was public.
Leaderboards
While the mod is on, your scores do not go to the leaderboards. A new button in the main menu turns the mod off, and then your scores go out normally.
A run counts only if the mod was off for the whole of it. Switching it off halfway will not save that run, but the next one will. A Red Rift win streak containing such a run stays out of the leaderboards until the streak restarts.
New in the preview
- Items, relics, rank modifiers and specializations that need a position are marked. Front row, back row, next to an ally, alone in a row. When the hero is standing where one of these pays, the hex under them lights up. When it does not pay, the hex is dimmed with a red line across it, and the item in that hero's row or the relic in the bar gets a red animated border and a line too, so you can see which one is the problem.
- Hero cards show which ability or rank modifier is switched off, with the same red border and line, and only on the hero that is out of position.
- A wasted Rift Seal gets marked. In a Red Rift run, if winning this fight would charge nothing and moving the Seal would fix that, the Seal's icon gets a red animated border and a line across it. That covers the Seal sitting in your bag, and the Seal worn by a hero whose classes are already charged.
- A dashed outline shows the ground an area attack will cover. Enemies get one too.
- See-through units became its own button (T), instead of being tied to a mode.
Faster
Moving a hero updates the preview in about a thirtieth of a second, where it could take up to half a second. The pause when a placement begins is largely gone, hovering and dragging cost a fraction of what they did, and a hitch that came back about once a second is gone. On a machine that cannot keep up, the preview now takes a moment longer to appear instead of the game stuttering.
