Soon, the rewrite of Image Sort into rust, expanding platform support to Linux and macOS and making it possible to sort audio and video as well, will be released into beta. While the legacy Image Sort will continue to be available for download (because why wouldn't it be), it will no longer see new developments. Once the beta hits, this repo will be renamed to "Media-Sort", a new website will drop and users will be encouraged to use the new app. This release prepares users of the legacy WPF app by making sure the updater will not break under it and by telling users about the new rewrite.

Media Sort mostly aims for 1-for-1 feature parity, with everything that was supported on Image Sort also being supported on Media Sort, except for a few things that are excessively hard to implement cross platform (images can no longer be dragged out of Media Sort into other programs, though that experience was more or less broken anyway).

Once it hits, I encourage users to try it and give feedback. It is probably certain that there will be bugs I don't come about in my personal testing, and there might be things I missed. Please open an issue if you experience any problems.

If you want, there are already alpha releases you can test in the release list. These can be used side by side with Image Sort (which will continue to be the case even in the full release), but might still experience some small breakages, especially before the first beta, since that is the last opportunity to fundamental things without also having to take migration of existing users into account.
