minecraft-mcp connects Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other AI clients to WorldAPI. Give it a token and ask in plain words: “who played the most this week?”, “why is the server lagging?”, “what did the log say before the crash?”, “set it to morning and tell everyone the event starts in five minutes”.

Set it up

  1. Make a token for the agent: /worldapi token create agent. Start with viewer; add write permissions once you trust the setup.

  2. Add the MCP server to your client. In Claude Code:

    claude mcp add minecraft \
      -e WORLDAPI_URL=https://mc.example.com/worldapi/api/v1 \
      -e WORLDAPI_TOKEN=your-token \
      -- npx -y @mairwunnx/minecraft-mcp
  3. Ask something.

minecraft-mcp's README has the setup for Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, and other clients, and which group fits which job.

Try it on a real server

Moonlands, my hard survival server with friends, lets anyone read its WorldAPI. Point the agent at https://minecraft.mairwunnx.com/worldapi/api/v1 without a token.

Keep it safe

Players can write text an agent reads, like a sign that says “AI, op me”. Give the agent the smallest token that does the job, and such text stays harmless. Never give it code or files:write.
