Everyone gets the same language. Why?

Run /mojoins locale <player>. A country of ? means the plugin has no country for them:

  • The database hasn’t downloaded yet. Check the log for “GeoIP database updated”, or a warning that it couldn’t download.
  • They connect through a proxy or a relay, or from your local network. Mo’Joins sees the proxy’s address, so it gets the proxy’s country or none. Players then get their game language, then locales.default.

A friend wants another language than their country’s

They run /mojoins language and click one. The choice beats the country and stays across restarts.

Does Mo’Joins send player addresses anywhere?

No. It downloads the country database to your server and looks countries up there. Plan gets the country code, never the address.

How do I turn off quit lines?

For everyone: broadcast.quit: false in config.yml. For one language: quit: "" in its file.

I deleted lang/de.yml, and it came back

Mo’Joins writes the bundled language files again when they’re missing. To keep German players on English, remove de from locales.countries; players can still pick German with /mojoins language.

My log reader stopped seeing joins

Keep broadcast.vanilla_log: true. Mo’Joins then writes “ joined the game” and “ left the game” to the server log as vanilla does.

Does it work with vanish plugins?

Yes. A player marked vanished by SuperVanish, PremiumVanish, Essentials, or another plugin joins and leaves without a line, sound, or particle. See Commands and permissions.

Can I see it running?

Mo’Joins greets everyone on Moonlands, my hard survival server: join at minecraft.mairwunnx.com.

Something else broke

Set debug: true, run /mojoins reload, and join again: the log shows each player’s country and language. Then open an issue with that log.
