2 ‐ About this Group
This repository contains resources put together by the Nautilus Team, but it doesn't have to stay that way. We want others to take initiative in this project and create amazing resources for Project Lab 1 and potentially other labs if resources are needed.
"Nautilus" in this repository refers to the rover platform that we have built, Nautilus. This platform and its sister version, Cylon, were the result of our lab 1 experience. The inspiration for the name came from the legendary submarine featured in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. As for Cylon, that project was built for the ECE department for showcase to donors and engineering students during the summer of 2023. It is inspired by the Cylon Raider from the TV show Battlestar Galactica.
The Nautilus Team will also be referenced sometimes as just "Nautilus" but know that this is in reference to Dr. Clark's Lab 1 Section, Group 5 for Spring 2023. We also nicknamed ourselves Boat Crew 5, hence the BC5 in the repository description.

Our team consisted of 3 members for Spring 2023. Mark Dannemiller (pictured center) led the software and mechanical design for Nautilus. Logan Barkowsky (pictured left) led the PCB design, electronic protoboard manufacturing, and 3D Printing portions of the project. Brett Fischbuch (pictured right) led project management/budget, rover assembly, research, presentation formatting, and final report formatting for the entire team. Throughout this project, the 3 learned each other's strengths and how to correctly delegate all tasks using MS Teams and source control through GitHub. Realizing the utility of publishing this experience online for others to see, this repository has turned into a hub for ECE Project Lab 1 resources.
