The design of LplPlugin is guided by a strict set of principles that inform every architectural decision.
| Principle | Description |
|---|---|
| Absolute Performance | "Close to Metal" — zero unnecessary abstraction, native C++23 |
| Data-Oriented Design | SoA (Structure of Arrays), memory coalescence, cache-friendly |
| Determinism | Fixed-point maths and a fixed tick make runs reproducible bit-for-bit — the basis of replay, regression tests and rollback netcode |
| Zero-Copy | Eliminate CPU↔RAM↔GPU copies at every stage of the pipeline |
| Server-Authoritative | The server is the single source of truth; the client predicts locally |
| SOLID & Clean Code | Strict SOLID principles, Doxygen, guard clauses, no inline comments, .inl files |
| Explicit Dependencies | Each module declares its own dependencies — no hidden coupling |
| Open Source | Reproducibility, community impact, scientific publications |
| Measure Before Optimizing | Empirical performance data before any added complexity |
| Simplicity > Complexity | Static array > complex slab allocator when metrics confirm it |
