Growth Chambers

Head gardener's instruction: Electricity alone will not grow the crop. Supply water and soil as well.

There are two blocks: a growth-chamber controller makes greenhouse power from electricity, water and dirt; growth chambers consume that power to grow recognised plant inputs. They do not simply speed every crop planted nearby.

Build A Small Greenhouse

  1. Place a controller and one growth chamber touching face-to-face.
  2. Supply electricity and water to the controller. Its water tank holds 2,000 mB.
  3. Put dirt in the controller's soil slot.
  4. Put recognised seeds, crops or saplings into the chamber. It has three input and six output slots.
  5. Check resources decrease and actual produce appears. Then add further contiguous chambers if supply permits.

Chambers must share the compatible contiguous greenhouse network, not merely be in the same building. Each active processing slot consumes one greenhouse unit per tick; a normal stage takes 100 work ticks. Different plant recipes can have several stages, so do not assume every input finishes after exactly five seconds.

Controller Resources

One greenhouse unit costs 8 electricity + 2 mB water + 1 soil. Controller buffers are 100 electricity and 1,000 greenhouse, with the 2,000 mB water tank.

One accepted dirt block contributes 1,000 soil to an internal maximum of 1,500. A second block may stay visible until enough soil is spent for a whole 1,000-unit refill to fit. This is deliberate whole-block refill behaviour, not proof the dirt is rejected. The GUI's soil slot shows the item; it is not a numeric meter of the hidden soil reserve. The first dirt can disappear into that reserve while the chamber continues working.

Controls And Restart

Check redstone state and use a small known crop batch before automating. Full outputs, unsupported plants or missing controller resources stop progress. Input, per-slot growth progress, soil, water and energy should survive full restart.

The historical concern that the second dirt was never consumed was closed after observing it under enough load. Do not repeatedly refill the controller just because the slot changes at a different time from the water bar.
