Drills
Place the drill facing the bore, connect electricity and leave its rear accessible for output. All six facings, including up/down, are valid. It collects drops into six internal output slots, then can pass them to a rear inventory or conveyor. Do not expect successful output beside the rendered cutting beam.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Reach from body | 64 blocks |
| Local electricity buffer | 500 |
| Mining progress cost | 24 electricity/active work tick |
| Track movement | 250 electricity |
| Hardness time factor | 32 |
The cutting area extends forward in three dimensions. Protect nearby builds and commission against a small bounded rock target. Block hardness, available power, valid targets and output room affect work; moving visuals alone are insufficient evidence.
Craft electric track shapelessly from electric conduit and a steel frame. Align the track with the intended movement and keep clearance. Advancing should retain energy, facing, stock and work state without replacing the drill manually.
Current maintained code fixes vertical metadata and track/state restoration faults. For a new installation, check before/after coordinates, output and facing across save/reload and a complete process restart. Full storage should halt further useful mining, not make drops disappear.
