Enchantment Extraction Table
The Enchantment Extraction Table pulls a single enchantment off an item and puts it onto a book. The item keeps all its other enchantments. That way you can move an enchantment from an old pickaxe to a new one, or split a stack of enchantments across several items.
You need two things, both on Recipes:
- the Enchantment Extraction Table itself (obsidian, amethyst shards, an Enchanting Table and an Enchantment Extractor), and
-
Enchantment Extractors
– one is used up per extraction.
Break the table with a pickaxe to take it with you. Items left inside drop when it is broken.
- Put the enchanted item into the Item slot (left).
- Put a normal
Book into the Book slot (middle). - Put an
Enchantment Extractor into the Tool slot (right). - Click the enchantment you want on the right side.
The book turns into an
enchanted book with exactly that enchantment at its level. The enchantment disappears from the item, and one Extractor is used up. If you put in more than one book, the new enchanted book goes straight into your inventory.
Curses are listed too (in red). To pull one off you need:
- a
Curse Breaker in the Tool slot instead of the Extractor, and -
5 experience levels.
The curse moves onto the book like a normal enchantment, and the Curse Breaker is used up. In creative mode it costs no levels.
Curse Breakers are crafted from gold ingots, amethyst shards and a ghast tear, see Recipes.
- Enchanted books cannot be split here – only items that carry the enchantment directly.
- Removing an enchantment does not change the item's repair cost on the anvil.
