How does Grid Garage work?

TomWaterat edited this page Sep 12, 2017 · 10 revisions

All Grid Garage tools use the same method to batch process multiple geodata inputs.

Each Grid Garage tool requires you to specify an input table (commonly the Results table output from a previous tool) containing the list of geodata you want processed and an output table name and location, as shown in the figure below.

How GG works

When using the Grid Garage tools, the first step always involves generating a Results Table using the Geodata > Search tool, which is essentially a list of paths for the geodata items you want processed by a Grid Garage tool.

The following features are common to all tools:

  • Input Table
  • Required Tool Input Parameters
  • Optional Input Parameters
  • Output Table(s)

For most Grid Garage tools the geodata processing is undertaken by standard ESRI ArcGIS functions described in the ESRI online help. See Technical documentation for Grid Garage tools for usage tips and a short description of each tool, including a link to the ESRI online help.
