Placenta transporters implementation

Hi all,

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section. I'm working on a pregnancy PBPK model and would like to incorporate transporters such as P-gp and BRCP from the maternal placenta to the fetal placenta. Is there any way to do this?

My initial thought was to manually add a neighborhood linking maternal placenta to fetal placenta. I also thought of adding transporter proteins to the molecule, but it didn't look like it was automatically incorporated into the placenta versus the transporters being in the liver.

You also have to make sure the transporter Proteins are located/Expressed in the respective locations where the process happens.

That'd be great. Do you have any availability near the end of the month? I'm currently reading about the cotyledon perfusion model and the pregnancy models to see how it's modeled.

In our project, we may need to determine certain parameters using the cotyledon perfusion model of the drug we're looking at. Then I'd like to implement those parameters after optimizing them into the pregnancy model.

Something I'm not too sure about is implementing the expression of the transporter. I'm looking at various transporters (SERT, P-gp, BCRP) that occur on the maternal placenta side. I found some information of the SERT transporter expression here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/6532.

Overall, still thinking about it but should have a better idea soon.
