We use a scale parameter for the dependent care credit and a cap/amount structure for the dependent credit. The law reads as a scale parameter for each, but we don't have a scale parameter implemented in PolicyEngine and some reforms propose lifting the cap, which is harder in scale parameters. So this is more of a general issue but in the immediate term it's a bit awkward that we can support reforms to one and not the other, as they're being discussed as a package.
