Glossary

English · Español

Domain and project terms used across the wiki. Much of the code uses Spanish identifiers (marca, ficha, diseno…); the Spanish name is given next to the English meaning so you can search for it.

Magic and printing terms

Term Meaning
Proxy A printed stand-in for a real card. The app only prints proxies; it never sells or distributes anything.
Printing One specific edition of a card (set, collector number, language). A card has many printings; see Add-Card-and-Variants.
Token (ficha) A game piece (creature token, emblem, copy…) a card creates. Detected automatically from Scryfall all_parts or from the Cockatrice catalogue. See Scryfall-Integration, External-Sources.
DFC Double-faced card. Front and back are separate images; layout can interleave or align them for duplex printing. See Layout-Engine.
Duplex Printing on both sides of the sheet, which requires mirrored/aligned back pages.
Bleed (sangrado) Extra image area beyond the cut line so small cutting errors do not leave white edges. Default 0.
Cut guides (guías de corte) Marks printed outside the card to cut along. Off by default.
Big cards Oversized cards (Planechase planes, Archenemy schemes, Vanguard) that get their own sheets at the end of the plan (big_grid, big_cells, Page.big).
Sideboard / Maybeboard Deck sections in pasted lists. They become banquillo and opcional marks.

Deck and data terms

Term Meaning
Deck The saved unit: pasted list text, resolved cards, print settings. See Deck-Model.
DeckCard One slot's worth of card: its source, images, edits, mark, design.
CardSource Where a card comes from: a Scryfall card or Custom (own image, optionally linked to a Scryfall card via scryfallId or to an external reference externa).
Linking (vincular) Associating an own-image card with a real card so it gets card info and statistics while keeping its own image. See Card-Identification-and-OCR.
Mark (marca) DeckCard.marca: a design variant, optional card or sideboard. Marked cards are printed but excluded from size, copies, statistics and the exported list by proxy_core::model::cuentan. DeckStats.setAside counts them.
.pbdeck Single-file deck package with the deck and its images. See Deck-Package-Format.
Blob store Content-addressed image storage in app_data_dir/blobs/ by SHA-256. Decks depend on it, so it is never treated as cache. See Storage-and-Blobs.
Render cache Derived images (thumbnails…) in app_cache_dir/renders/. Safe to delete.
blob_refs Table of which blobs are referenced (for example by designs) so garbage collection does not delete them.
Library The list of saved decks with tags, favourites, notes and covers. See Deck-Library.

Layout and rendering terms

Term Meaning
PagePlan The geometry of every sheet in millimetres, computed by proxy-core::layout and consumed by both the preview and the PDF. The screen never computes positions itself. See Layout-Engine.
Frame / stretch (encuadre) The image is stretched to the exact slot (imaging::frame) and only cropped when the aspect ratio differs by more than MAX_ESTIRADO (15 %). See Imaging-and-PDF.
Row offsets (alinear filas) Per-row printer-alignment corrections in the export panel.
Slot (casilla) One card position on a sheet in the preview.
pbimg:// Custom URI scheme through which the web view loads blobs, thumbnails, designer previews and fonts. See Rust-App-Layer.
Job (trabajo) A long-running Rust task with progress events (resolve, export, bulk identify, downloads). See IPC-and-Error-Handling.
Busy Error raised when a long job is already running and another is requested.

Designer terms

Term Meaning
Designer (Diseñar, diseno) The card editor that renders cards from data and frame packs. See Designer-Overview.
CardDesign / CardData A card's design settings and its textual data (name, type, rules, stats…).
Collection (colección) A named set of design defaults shared by many cards.
Effective design (efectivo) Card design over collection over factory defaults, merged by diseno::efectivo.
huella Hash of the effective design and its inputs, used as cache key and in pbimg://…/d/<huella>/<width> URLs.
Design language (idioma de diseño, DesignLang) The language a designed card's texts are rendered in: one of the 15 codes of the app (Scryfall's), chosen per deck (PrintSettings.designLang). Distinct from the interface language and from the card-printing language. See Designer-Overview.
ByLang<T> A value per design language: es and en always, the others only when present (otros). See Designer-Engine.
CJK fonts (letras CJK) Noto Sans JP, KR, SC and TC, downloaded on first use of Japanese, Korean or Chinese as design language (too large for the installer).
Pack A frame pack: layers, SVGs, fonts, styles and conditions in the format described in Frame-Packs.
Original frames M15 image frames from Card Conjurer, downloaded on demand, pinned to a commit and SHA-256.
Balatro pack The first downloadable pack (pixel art, seven styles).
Style (estilo) A frame template inside a pack, chosen by card type/colours.
FineTuning Per-collection or per-card fine adjustments: text heights and sizes, line spacing, rules-box opacity, art-window radius, card radius.
Squeeze (estrechado) Narrowing of title and type line (title_squeeze_min, title_squeeze_base).
Golden tests (dorados) Rendering tests that compare output to stored images in proxy-core/tests/dorados/. See Testing-and-CI.
Draft (borrador) The editable working copy of a design in the designer.
design_overlay Paints a card once without its illustration and reports where the art window is, so dragging art needs no Rust round trip. See Designer-App-Layer.

Sources and integrations

Term Meaning
Scryfall Source of card data and images. All requests go through the Rust client with rate limiting.
fuentes::Externo The allow-listed HTTP client for every non-Scryfall download: fixed site + path list (PERMITIDOS), redirect re-check, size cap, images re-encoded by limpiar_imagen.
Cockatrice / MTGJSON / mtg.io Token catalogue, local multilingual name index, and online multilingual name lookup. See External-Sources.
OCR Optional text recognition (ocrs) over whole card images to identify originals.
tweakcn Source of installable colour themes. See Themes-and-Skins.

Frontend and tooling terms

Term Meaning
Binding A TypeScript type generated from a Rust type with ts-rs into src/bindings/ (never edited by hand).
AppError { code, params }: the only error shape commands return; the UI translates it. See IPC-and-Error-Handling.
call() The only way the UI invokes Rust (src/lib/ipc.ts).
Store A zustand store (deck-store, plan-store, ui-store, trabajo-store, actualizacion-store). See State-Stores.
Skin Visual style layer (Hera, Zeus) combined with theme and material. See Themes-and-Skins.
t() Translation function: the argument is the Spanish source string; each translation lives in src/i18n/<code>/<area>.json, keyed by that string. See Internationalization.
Interface language (idioma de la interfaz) One of the 15 UI languages of src/lib/idiomas.ts (English by default), stored in proxybuilder.lang. See Internationalization.
ScrollArea The shared scroll component; native overflow-auto is not used.
