Basic Configuration

This page covers the current BLU setup flow after installation.

Open BLU

Use:

/blu

This opens the main BLU options panel.

General Tab

The General tab controls the main addon behavior:

  • enable or disable BLU
  • show or hide the login welcome message
  • mute BLU in instances
  • mute BLU in combat
  • choose the playback sound channel
  • adjust the selected channel volume

If you are setting BLU up for the first time, start here.

Event Tabs

BLU splits sound selection by event category. Depending on the tab, you can choose sounds for:

  • Level Up
  • Achievement
  • Quest
  • Reputation
  • Battle Pets
  • Honor
  • Renown
  • Trading Post
  • Delve
  • Housing

Each event tab lets you:

  • pick a sound from BLU's built-in library
  • use detected third-party pack sounds
  • use your own custom sounds
  • preview the selected sound

For BLU-native sounds, the event tabs also support:

  • Low
  • Medium
  • High

volume variants.

Sounds Tab

The Sounds tab gives you two main views:

  1. Installed Sound Packs

    • BLU built-in default sounds
    • BLU built-in game packs
    • user custom sounds
    • supported third-party packs detected from other addons
  2. User Custom Sounds

    • add a custom sound
    • review the sounds loaded into your current profile
    • remove sounds you no longer want

Profiles Tab

The Profiles tab lets you:

  • create a new profile
  • rename a profile
  • reset a profile
  • copy the active profile
  • apply presets to the active profile

Profiles store your:

  • selected sounds
  • volume choices
  • module toggles
  • general behavior settings

For more detail, see Customizing Sound Profiles.
