Releases: Rawcard/RCRotations

v1.4.1

@Rawcard Rawcard released this 15 Oct 23:34
f2ef0f7

1.4.1

1.4.1

  • Discipline Priest has a rotation ("Atonement"): Shadow Word: Pain, Penance, Holy Fire or Power
Word: Solace, Archangel at 5 Evangelism, Mindbender or Shadowfiend for mana, Smite as filler and
Mind Sear on 4+ targets. WoWSims has no Discipline rotation, so this one is ours.
  • HUD: the main icon always shows; the two next-spell icons only appear when there's a next spell.
The empty icon is a centered skull without the frame lines.
  • Workshop app 1.1.0: a new "Build a new rotation" tab. Pick your class and spec, drag spells into
your rotation, add conditions from a list (buff missing, debuff under N seconds, resource,
target health, number of targets, moving and more), then Save to WoW.

1.4.0

Smarter rotations for real play, a cleaner HUD and the Workshop app.

  • Rotations are tuned for real play on top of WoWSims. Simulators assume you did some things before
the pull, so RCRotations now reminds you in combat:
    • Retribution: a seal when you have none (Seal of Truth, or Righteousness on 4+ targets).
    • Death Knight: the right presence, Horn of Winter when no attack power buff is up, and for Blood,
Bone Shield upkeep and Death Strike first at 40% health or lower.
    • Warlock: Curse of the Elements when nobody has the 5% magic damage debuff on the target.
  • Demonology Metamorphosis: the HUD shows Touch of Chaos, Doom, Chaos Wave and Soul Fire to match
your bars, never suggests Metamorphosis while it's up, and shows a red CANCEL label when it's time
    to end it.
  • Unholy: Dark Transformation waits for 5 Shadow Infusion stacks.
  • Coming up: when fewer than three spells are ready, the HUD shows the next spells coming off
cooldown with their timer instead of going blank. /rcr soon turns it off.
  • The Damage / PvE toolbar under the HUD is gone. Role and profile are in the menu (/rcr).
  • RCRotations Workshop, a free Windows app: edit any WoWSims rotation and save it straight into the
addon (it shows in your rotation list as "(Workshop)"). Download:
    https://github.com/Rawcard/RCRotations/releases/tag/workshop (also in /rcr options > Rotation,
    or /rcr workshop).
  • Pasting a NAG rotation into /rcr import now explains that only WoWSims rotations import.

1.3.0

WoWSims rotations on MoP Classic.

  • Every MoP class gets real rotations, generated from WoWSims (wowsims/mop, MIT): 73 rotations
covering all DPS and tank specs plus Holy Priest. The rotation follows your
    current specialization automatically.
  • Rotation picker: when your spec has more than one WoWSims rotation (Frost DK: Obliterate or
Masterfrost), a window asks on login or spec change. The choice is saved per character and spec
until you change it with /rcr apl.
  • Import rotations in game: Options > Rotation > "Import WoWSims" (or /rcr import, or the picker's
"Import a rotation..." button). Paste a rotation exported from wowsims.com; it's converted on
the spot, saved for all your characters under the current spec, and shown as "(imported)" in the
picker. The X next to it removes it.
  • Rotations update through the addon: a daily GitHub job pulls WoWSims changes into a pull request.
  • Simulator-only conditions (trinket procs, boss timers, scripted sequences) use stand-in values;
everything else (auras, dots, cooldowns, runes, chi, holy power, energy...) is read live.
  • WoWSims only: the built-in rotation lists, their editor and the Auto/AoE/Burst buttons are
gone. On Era, TBC and Forever you import a WoWSims rotation per class; on first login with no
rotation for your class/spec, a window offers the import. The Options Rotation tab shows the
active WoWSims rotation with Choose and Import buttons. Defense, interrupt, purge, cleanse and
    weapon reminders are unchanged.
  • Flashes: any bar addon is detected (ElvUI, Bartender, Dominos, RCDiabloUI, or anything built on
LibActionButton). Only visible buttons flash, and a flash hides while its button is hidden,
so there are no stray flashes where a bar addon hid Blizzard's buttons.
  • /rcr why lists the suggestions and the buttons each one flashes.
  • New default HUD style "Compact": a big square main icon with a thin gold edge, no panel behind
it, a large keybind in the bottom-left and a small RC badge, with the next two spells smaller
beside it, all with black borders. Switch back with Options > General > Display ("HUD: Classic")
    or /rcr style.
  • Compact style replaces the padlock with a thin "Click to lock" bar under the icons. It disappears
once locked; unlock from Options > General > Lock (or the minimap button).
  • The RC badge on the main icon is a button: click it to open the options.
  • The defense, interrupt, purge, cleanse and weapon-buff windows are off by default (switched off
once on existing characters too). Turn them on in Options > General > Windows.
  • Suggestion icons stay clickable while locked (right-click = never suggest); dragging still
    needs the HUD unlocked.
  • Spells the game says you can't cast right now (Dark Transformation without 5 Shadow Infusion,
procs, forms, resources) are never suggested.
  • Never-suggest list, applied on top of every rotation so WoWSims updates can't bring them back:
personal defensives and raid cooldowns by default (Anti-Magic Shell, Icebound Fortitude,
    Army of the Dead, Bloodlust/Heroism/Time Warp, ...). Right-click a spell on the HUD to add it;
/rcr unblock to remove; /rcr blocked to list; Options > Rotation shows it with a reset.

1.2.0

Runs on every Classic client, not just Forever.

  • One folder loads on Classic Era, TBC Anniversary, Wrath, Cata and MoP Classic, plus WoW Forever.
Retail is excluded on purpose (Midnight hides combat state from addons).
  • New Compat.lua detects the client (ns.GAME: vanilla, tbc, wrath, cata, mists, forever).
  • Death Knight and Monk recognized: class colors, roles (DK damage/tank, Monk damage/tank/heal), HUD.
They have no rotation lists yet, so the HUD stays empty for them until the WoWSims import lands.
  • Interrupts and purges updated per client: Wind Shear, Mind Freeze, Rebuke, Skull Bash,
Counter Shot, Spear Hand Strike, and MoP's Dispel Magic ID.
  • Energy-tick and swing-clip timing only runs on Era, TBC and Forever (later clients don't have them).
  • Rotation lists are still the Classic Era lists. Spells resolve by name, so they mostly work on TBC;
on Wrath, Cata and MoP they're a placeholder until the WoWSims rotations are imported.

1.1.0

RC SpellFlash built in.

  • New default flash style ported from RC-SpellFlash 2.1.1: colored glow fill plus a pulsing outline,
drawn above the button so hidden bar headers (RCDiabloUI) can't hide it.
  • Colors: next spell yellow, defense/long buffs cyan, interrupt orange, purge purple,
heals and weapon imbues keep their own colors.
  • Switch styles in Options > General > Display ("RC SpellFlash style"), or with /rcr flash.
Turning it off brings back the original skull.
  • More bars detected (from RC-SpellFlash): ElvUI stance bar, pet action bar, RCDiabloUI bars and stance bar.

1.0.0

First RCRotations release, forked from Forever Rotation 1.5.72 by Vohnka (MIT).

  • Renamed to RCRotations: folder, TOC files, title, author, category.
  • New slash commands: /rcr (also /rcrot and /rcrotations). Credit toggle: /rcrmsg on|off.
  • New SavedVariables names (RCRotationsDB, RCRotationsCharDB, RCRotationsCreditDB) and frame names,
so RCRotations can be installed next to the original without conflicts.
  • Info panel and login line credit Vohnka; links point to the original project for reference.
  • Rotation logic, holds, profiles and HUD behaviour are unchanged from Forever Rotation 1.5.72.
  • Profile share strings keep the original format, so strings from Forever Rotation still import.

1.4.0

1.4.0

Tuning layer.

  • Per-spec fixes on top of WoWSims rotations live in rotations/tuning/mists.json: require (extra
condition), block, move and add, written in a short readable syntax (pet.buff(91342).stacks >= 5).
They apply to every rotation for the spec, bundled or imported, and survive WoWSims updates.
  • First fix: Unholy Dark Transformation waits for 5 Shadow Infusion stacks on the ghoul.
  • Retribution: reminds you to put a seal on when you have none (Seal of Truth, or Seal of
Righteousness on 4+ targets). WoWSims starts every fight with a seal, so it never asked.
Seals and other stance-bar spells are suggested even with "only spells on my bars" on.
  • Coming up: when fewer than three spells are ready, the HUD fills in the next rotation spells
coming off cooldown within 6 seconds, soonest first, with their cooldown timer. They don't
flash until they're ready. /rcr soon turns it off.
  • New tuning syntax: stance and stance(id).
  • RCRotations Workshop, a free Windows app: edit any WoWSims rotation and save it straight into
RCRotations (it shows in your rotation list as "(Workshop)"). Download:
    https://github.com/Rawcard/RCRotations/releases/tag/workshop (also in /rcr options > Rotation).
  • Spells that change while a form is up now follow your bars: during Metamorphosis the HUD shows
Touch of Chaos, Doom, Chaos Wave and Soul Fire (Meta) instead of Shadow Bolt, Corruption, Hand of
Gul'dan and Soul Fire, and the flash finds them on the base spell's button. Before, Meta-only
spells were never suggested, so Demonology in Meta fell back to the wrong list.
  • Death Knight: presence reminder (Blood / Frost / Unholy Presence) when you're in the wrong one
or none, and Horn of Winter when no attack power buff is up (yours, Battle Shout or Trueshot
Aura). Blood also keeps Bone Shield up and puts Death Strike first at 40% health or lower.
WoWSims does all of these before the pull, so it never asked for them.
  • Warlock (all specs): suggests Curse of the Elements when the target has no 5% magic damage
debuff from anyone. WoWSims assumes the raid already has it up.
  • Demonology: Metamorphosis is never suggested while it's up, except by the rotation's own
"cancel Metamorphosis" line (low fury, no Dark Soul, Meta ready again soon), which now works and
shows the Meta icon with a red CANCEL label.
  • The Damage / PvE toolbar under the HUD is gone. Role and profile are set in the menu (/rcr):
the profile buttons at the top, and a new Role button next to them.
  • A mistake in the tuning file stops the build with a clear message; the sync report lists every
fix applied and any spell it targets that isn't in the rotations.
