TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Definitions

Usages of definitions are emphasized.

• MOD: A piece of software that interfaces with the Minecraft client and/or server to add, change or remove certain original functionality.
• OWNER: The authors and/or copyright holders of Nature's Debris and all its sources.
• RED GALAXY: The team name of the owner.
• NATURE'S DEBRIS, THE MOD or THIS MOD: The original mod that is legally distributed by the owner - Red Galaxy - under the name "Nature's Debris" or any other relevant name (in old versions "The Modernity"). This is the mod these terms apply to.
• MOJANG: Mojang A.B. - The original authors and/or copyright holders of Minecraft.
• USER: End user of Nature's Debris - A person that installs Nature's Debris.
• FORGE: Minecraft Forge - The authors of the Forge API, or the Forge API itself.
• VANILLA: The default version or behaviour of Minecraft, either client or server, without any mod, nor Forge, installed.
• (THE) DIRECTOR: The project manager, original creator and author, and a legal owner of Nature's Debris.
• (THE) SOURCES: Anything that is part of the available source code of this mod, that is under the copyright of the owner.
• DISTRIBUTOR: A person or other legal entity that shares and/or spreads any file that belongs to this mod or its sources, either legally or illegally.
• DISTRIBUTION: The sharing and/or spreading of any files that belong to this mod, including its sources, either legally or illegally.
• MOD PACK: A collection of mods that are meant to interface with Minecraft and each other.
• CONTRIBUTION: Legal modification of or the suggestion of modifications to this mod and/or its sources.
• CONTRIBUTOR: A person or other legal entity that legally modifies or suggests modifications to this mod and/or its sources.
• FUNDING PROVIDER: Someone who raises money from any part of this mod, via any way or kind, including but not limited to link shorteners.

Liability

NATURE'S DEBRIS IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OWNER BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH NATURE'S DEBRIS OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THIS MOD.

Unless explicitly stated in a file itself, or in a file named NOTICE.txt, NOTICE.md or package-info.java on behalf of the corresponding file, the Director and Red Galaxy have full rights over this mod and its sources, under the copyright terms when purchasing Minecraft (http://www.minecraft.net/copyright.jsp), despite the use of Mojang's code. The use of Forge's code by the owner is completely legal.

Use

Installation, either automatically or manually, and the use of this mod (not the sources) are given to the user unless the Director or the owner have forbidden that user to use this mod.

Distribution and redistribution

Distribution of this mod or its sources is strictly forbidden for every person or other legal entity except when one or more of the following conditions apply to the distributor. Distribution is only legal

• when the distributor is a legal member of the owner;
• when the distributor has a written and valid permission of the owner and may be subject to certain terms;
• when the distributor is the Director;
• when the kind of distribution is via a mod pack on CurseForge, but only when the owner is informed;
• when the distribution is done privately, via hardware such as external storage, via mail or via other communication platforms such as WhatsApp or Discord with the exception of public servers;
• or when the distribution is on the original CurseForge page of Nature's Debris or the GitHub releases page of this GitHub repository.

Distribution is, regardless of the above conditions, unless the distributor is the Director, always strictly forbidden

• when the distributor is not a person;
• when the owner does not know about the distribution;
• when the distribution yields money or other financial profit to the distributor in any way or kind, including link shorteners like AdFly or BitLy (see the 'Funding' section below for exceptions);
• when the distribution is distributed under another license than this license;
• or WHEN THE DIRECTOR OR ANOTHER OWNER HAS/HAVE FORBIDDEN THE DISTRIBUTOR OF DISTRIBUTING THIS MOD OR ITS SOURCES IN ANY OTHER KIND OR FORM!.

When one or more files that are covered by these terms and conditions are distributed illegally, including sources and binaries, modified or not, users may freely ignore any terms and conditions that "cover" the corresponding files. If the Director or another owner asks a user to share an illegally distributed file, the user MUST share that file, regardless of the terms and conditions of the illegal distributor.

Derivative works and/or modification

This mod and its sources are provided freely and may be downloaded, decompiled and modified for private use, either with a decompiler or a bytecode editor, or by cloning the public source code into a local repository. Public distributions of modified versions of this mod are covered by the above statement about distribution, under the header "Distribution and/or redistribution". THE OWNER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY MODIFYING, EXECUTING, USING OR RUNNING MODIFIED VERSIONS OF THIS MOD AND/OR ITS SOURCES!

Contribution

Contribution to this mod and/or its sources is allowed under the following conditions:

• The contributor must suggest modifications using Issues or Pull Requests on GitHub.
• The contributor must follow the contribution guidelines.
• The contributor may NOT contribute when the Director or another owner has forbidden the contributor to contribute.
• The contribution must be voluntary. By contributing, contributors automatically agree that the Director or another owner shares and distributes this contribution legally.

Signature

The binaries that are released on the GitHub releases page or on the CurseForge page (see the links on the right) are signed with a digital signature. If this signature is violated on a certain binary, the owner and/or the Director can assume that binary is a modified version of Nature's Debris, unless the signature is violated because it is expired. Usually, these modified versions are distributed illegally.

Funding

Unless the legal entity that receives money from this mod is the Director or any legal entity that got WRITTEN permission of the Director to raise money from this mod, raising money from this mod is strictly forbidden in any way or kind, including but not limited to link shorteners like AdFly and BitLy. Any legal entity that IS allowed to raise money is only allowed to raise money under the following restrictions:

• Money must and shall only be raised from sponsoring.
  • Any other way of funding is strictly forbidden!
  • A LEGAL FUNDING PROVIDER SHALL NEVER REQUIRE USERS TO PAY!
• A legal funding provider that is not the Director must be able to prove they have WRITTEN permission of the Director to raise money from this mod.
• The Director may impose other restrictions upon legal funding providers regarding the use of raised money or something else.

Legal entities will NEVER get written funding permission by the Director except in VERY EXCEPTIONAL cases.
