MacroChef 1.0.9
Fixes
- First launch no longer gets stuck on the backup screen. On a fresh install with no existing data and no backup, the app previously showed a "Select backup file" screen with no way to continue. There is now a Start fresh option, and the screen explains that restoring is optional when no backup was found.
MacroChef 1.0.8
What’s new
- Make PayPal, Wise, and Ko-fi immediately visible in the in-app Support screen.
- Update the InstaPay donation QR to MariBank.
MacroChef 1.0.6
What’s new
- Add optional Support MacroChef donations via SeaBank/InstaPay and PayPal.
- Add a Settings About section with privacy, licenses, and credits.
- Improve Android release compliance and AI-recipe reporting.
MacroChef 1.0.5
Refreshed branding: the chef-hat mark is now blue, and the launcher icon wraps the hat in a segmented macro tricolor ring (protein / carb / fat). No functional changes.
MacroChef v1.0.4
MacroChef 1.0.4
New
- Per-ingredient source badges in the recipe nutrition breakdown so you can see where each macro came from (USDA / local pack / AI estimate).
- Voice logging announces the macro source when you log a food hands-free.
- Local nutrition pack results now surface in the food-search dropdown, alongside online sources.
Fixes
- Multi-word food-search queries now match real USDA names correctly (RAG prefilter fix).
- Resolved an onnxruntime conflict that could stop the on-device voice engine from loading.
This is the app APK. The Nutrition Pack and Voice Pack are downloaded separately in-app (Settings → Food Data / Voice).
MacroChef v1.0.3
Reliability release.
What's new
- Hands-free cooking no longer hangs indefinitely on "Preparing cooking session…". The voice engine load is now time-bounded (surfaces a retryable error if it stalls), the in-cook AI call is time-bounded too, and the error screen reports the failure reason.
- Faster repeat cook sessions (the voice engine is loaded once and reused; also warms up in the background when you open a recipe).
MacroChef v1.0.2
Performance release.
What's new
- Hands-free cooking starts much faster. The on-device voice engine (~234 MB of Whisper + TTS models) is now loaded once per app run and reused across cook sessions instead of being reloaded every time — so repeat sessions start almost instantly. The engine also warms up in the background when you open a recipe, so the first cook doesn't wait on the load either. (Also fixes a background-isolate leak.)
Includes the v1.0.1 change: AI-dependent actions are gated on a usable AI provider.
MacroChef v1.0.1
Maintenance release.
What's new
- AI-dependent actions (hands-free cooking, recipe generation, AI training plan) are now gated on a usable AI provider — cloud provider with an API key, or the on-device model downloaded. When none is configured they show a clear "Set up an AI provider in Settings" hint instead of failing or hanging.
Setup after install (unchanged)
- Download the Voice Pack (~266 MB) in Settings → Voice for hands-free cooking.
- Pick an AI provider (Claude/OpenAI/Gemini/Groq + key, or the on-device local model) in Settings → AI Provider.
- Optional offline Nutrition Pack on the
nutrition-pack-v1release.
