Plateful adds three crops. Each one is planted from its own seeds.
Abandoned mineshaft and plains village house chests have a 35% chance to contain 2 to 4 of one kind of seed: rice seeds, lettuce seeds or tomato seeds.
- Plant Lettuce Seeds or Tomato Seeds on farmland, exactly like wheat.
- They grow through four visible stages and need light, like other crops. Bone meal speeds them up.
- Breaking a fully grown plant drops one Lettuce or Tomato plus up to three more seeds (more with Fortune). Breaking it early only gives back the seeds.
Rice is a paddy crop and only grows in water.
- Plant Rice Seeds in still water that is one block deep, on top of dirt, grass, mud, clay or farmland. Aim at the block under the water to plant.
- The space above the water must be open (no water above). The water stays when the plant is harvested.
- Rice always has water, so it grows steadily (about as fast as wheat on watered farmland) and can be bone-mealed.
- Halfway through growing, the plant becomes two blocks tall, rising out of the water. It needs an empty block above the water to do this; if the space is blocked, it stops growing until you clear it.
- Only the bottom block can be broken. Breaking it removes the whole plant.
- A fully grown plant drops one Rice plus up to three more Rice Seeds (more with Fortune).
