General updates (roundtable)

  • Any technical meeting updates?

    • Technical meeting notes - July 10
    • SasView 6.2.0b2 released
    • Main focus was resolving the remaining release blockers and preparing for final testing
    • License file update
    • Two ADRs to be finalized

    • Need to turn working group discussions into concrete Contributor Camp tasks

  • Mailing lists.

    • Migrating to a new server in the next few weeks

    • AND, in the process, upgrading from MM2 to MM3

      • SHOULD be no change for mail recipients (except for few minutes glitch in receipts)
      • IF you manage your list account - you will need to create a new one using the email address you receive email on.
      • Archives will be more easily searchable (and indexable?)
      • mail should handle modern security much better.

  • Updated timeline:

    • July 9: Beta2 release
    • July 9-14: focused testing
    • July 14: assess remaining blockers and decide whether a release candidate is required
    • Final release: date to be agreed based on Beta2 testing

  • Rules:

    • only bug fixes and documentation relevant to new features
    • no new models

  • Contributor Camp XVI - Paris

    • Need to submit the proposal by mid September
    • Biggest decision now = dates. Preferences and when do avoid (SAS2027 for example but how far separated?)

    • Should we schedule a community meeting (as in Traverse City - SAS2018)?
    • Should we think about training sessions of some kind?
    • Are there proposal or session submission deadlines?
