An obsidian burnisher is an item that can remove anvil uses from an item using an anvil.
Obsidian Burnishers can be crafted using 2 Obsidian and a Nether Quartz.
If a player has an obsidian burnisher anywhere in their inventory, tooltips displayed for any items will display the item's current Anvil Uses beside an obsidian burnisher icon.
Obsidian burnishers are used at an anvil by placing an item in the first slot, followed by the obsidian burnisher in the second slot. The Anvil Uses of the item will be reduced by 2⁽¹⁾. After the output is taken, the obsidian burnisher is consumed.
The experience level cost to lower the anvil use count is equal to the total use count of the base item, following this table:
