This page describes how to make use of SolarNetwork.

⭐ We are working hard on a new SolarNode Handbook, packed full of helpful information on how to get starting using SolarNode. It is an ongoing effort, but check it out for the most up-to-date information.

Create a SolarNetwork account

You will need to create an account with SolarNetwork to get started. All you need to provide is your name, email, and password. Once registered you can log in to SolarNetwork.

Deploy a SolarNode device

SolarNode is the distributed "edge" component of the SolarNetwork platform that collects data from solar inverters, energy meters, building management systems, and more. SolarNode typically runs on small, low-power devices such as a Raspberry Pi. The fastest way to get started is to download a ready-to-go operating system image for the device you plan to use for your SolarNode.

Add a SolarNode

To add a SolarNode device to your account, you must generate an invitation on the My Nodes page. You can then copy the invitation code and paste it into the SolarNode setup screen to associate the node with your account. Once associated, any data the node collects will be accessible via the SolarNetwork API.
