How to use Player Club Private VPN. Steps only — for why things work the way they do, see Architecture and FAQ. For installing/building from source, see Getting Started.
- First launch
- Layout
- Basic vs. Expert mode
- Turn on the real adapter (Expert)
- Connect to one peer — manual pairing
- Connect to a group — Virtual Network
- Minecraft preset
- Connection settings
- Diagnostics
- Theme and language
- Export/import a connection profile
- Disconnect
- Troubleshooting
Nothing to set up — no account, no sign-up. The app opens on the Network page in Basic mode.
- Sidebar (left) — Network, Diagnostics, Minecraft, Settings.
- Breadcrumb (top) — shows where you are.
- Settings — opens as an overlay: theme, language, and (Expert mode) Connection settings.
Settings → toggle Expert to show the Connection section and the real-adapter option. Toggling it only changes what's visible — nothing you've already set stops applying when you switch back to Basic.
- Settings → turn on Expert mode.
- Network page → enable the real-adapter toggle.
- If prompted
Needs Admin, click the relaunch button and approve the Windows prompt. The app restarts elevated, keeping your state. - Done — the adapter is created automatically.
Without this, the app still runs (handshake, telemetry) but there's no real network interface.
- Network page → generate your Offer.
- Send it to your peer any way you like (chat, voice call, email).
- Your peer pastes it in, generates their Answer, sends it back.
- Paste their Answer in.
- Wait — the link shows Connected once found.
Didn't connect? See Troubleshooting.
Host:
- Network page → Virtual Network panel → Create Network.
- Set a name and password → create.
- Share the network name, your host address, and the password with your group.
Join:
- Virtual Network panel → Join Network.
- Enter host address, network name, password.
- Everyone auto-connects to everyone — no pasting required.
Can't reach the host? See Troubleshooting.
Minecraft page → shows your current settings and a one-click preset button (recommended settings for Minecraft). Works with either connection method above — it only changes settings, not how you connect.
Settings → Connection:
| Setting | What it does | Takes effect |
|---|---|---|
| Broadcast forwarding | Tunnel carries broadcast traffic | Immediately |
| Multicast forwarding | Tunnel carries multicast traffic | Immediately |
FEC redundancy (r) |
Packet-loss recovery strength | Next Connect |
| Extra routed networks | Additional address/prefix routed through the tunnel |
Next Connect |
- Telemetry — RTT, jitter, loss, throughput.
- Packet log — low-level traffic log.
- Topology — you ↔ peer, live status.
- Spectrum chart — live throughput graph.
Settings → Personalization → 6 themes, 3 languages (English, 繁體中文, 简体中文). Both switch instantly and are remembered.
Settings → Connection → Export/Import saves or loads your connection settings as a JSON file.
Network page → Disconnect. If you were hosting a Virtual Network, this also stops it — other members will see you leave.
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| Stuck on "connecting" | Generate a fresh Offer/Answer and retry. |
| "Needs Admin" won't clear | Approve the Windows prompt; declining reverts the toggle. |
| Can't join a hosted network | The host is likely behind a NAT without port forwarding. |
| A setting didn't seem to apply | Check the table in §8 — some only apply on the next Connect. |
