Tempest Bow
Release: 0.4.0-alpha.1
Tier: Tier 3
The Tempest Bow is a storm-powered bow designed around extremely fast firing and actual vanilla lightning.
Not fake particles.
Not cosmetic lightning.
Actual Minecraft lightning.
- Durability: 1000
- Enchantability: 15
- Full draw time: 0.25 seconds / 5 ticks
- Tempest damage bonus: +14
- Repair material: Copper Ingot
The Tempest Bow reaches a full-strength draw after only 5 game ticks, or 0.25 seconds.
Once the threshold is reached, the shot is treated as a fully charged vanilla bow shot.
Releasing too early does not produce a normal full shot.
A marked Tempest arrow receives +14 damage before normal armor mitigation.
This allows normal bow damage, Power, armor, and other vanilla mechanics to remain relevant.
A Tempest arrow summons real vanilla lightning when it impacts something.
The target does not need to be an entity.

The lightning appears at the arrow's exact impact location.
Each Tempest arrow can summon lightning only once.
Because the bolt is a real vanilla Lightning Bolt entity, normal Minecraft lightning behaviour and side effects are preserved.
This is intentional.
The Tempest Bow uses normal vanilla bow ammunition.
Copper Ingot
Yes.
Copper.
You knew those stacks would become useful eventually.
The Tempest Bow uses the bow enchantment family alongside durability-compatible enchanting.
