- DeskBox starts quietly into the tray; there is no splash window.
- Single instance: if DeskBox is already running, launching it again exits instead of opening another window.
- Tray creation retries while the desktop is still starting; fatal initialization failures exit cleanly and release the instance instead of leaving a zombie process.
Autostart uses a per-user Run entry, so DeskBox appears in Windows Settings → Apps → Startup. If you disable it there, the in-app switch reflects it. On direct installations you can choose the startup method (standard by default, optional scheduled task); legacy scheduled-task registrations migrate automatically when safe.
On 1.5.5 and later, a health watchdog detects and re-opens the low-level hooks Windows silently strips — no restart needed. If hotkeys still die on 1.5.5+, report it with the in-app feedback (attach the diagnostics package).
Unsupported materials (Mica/Acrylic effects), rounded corners, and some animations automatically fall back to compatible visuals on Windows 10. File operations, drag-and-drop, and core widget behavior are validated against the Windows 10 floor.
File results come from Everything's local index over IPC — Everything itself is not bundled and must be installed separately. Open Settings → Search: DeskBox detects or launches Everything, shows connection and permission status, and lets you pick its executable. Apps, settings, notes, and todos are searched natively and do not depend on Everything.
DeskBox ships with performance modes — Balanced, Resource saver, and Custom — controlling hidden-widget cache cleanup, cache budgets, and continuous animations. Since 1.5.5, widgets also trim idle memory back to Windows after a few seconds of true inactivity ("Trim memory when idle" option). Large batch operations (importing or moving thousands of files) are bounded since 1.5.4.
- "Password not saved" in the snapshot list: the endpoint is configured but the password was never stored — re-enter credentials in Settings → Maintenance.
- 401 errors: check the account/password and that the WebDAV service allows this app/client (some providers require an app password).
- An upload accepted by the server but not yet listed shows "awaiting server confirmation" rather than a fake success.
Use the in-app Feedback entry and attach the diagnostics package. Mention the DeskBox version (Settings → About), your Windows version and architecture, and what you expected versus what happened.
- DeskBox 启动后安静驻留托盘，没有启动窗口。
- 单实例：已在运行时再次启动会直接退出，不会弹出第二个窗口。
- 托盘创建会在桌面启动期间自动重试；致命初始化失败会干净退出并释放单实例锁，不会留下僵尸进程。
自启使用当前用户的 Run 注册表项，因此 DeskBox 会出现在「Windows 设置 → 应用 → 启动」中；在系统侧禁用后，应用内开关也会同步显示。直装版可选择自启方式（默认标准方式，计划任务为可选）；旧的计划任务注册会在安全时自动迁移。
1.5.5 及以上版本有健康 watchdog，会自动检测并重开被 Windows 静默摘除的低级钩子，无需重启。如果在 1.5.5+ 上热键仍然失效，请用应用内「反馈」提交（附诊断包）。
Windows 10 上不受支持的材质（云母/亚克力效果）、圆角和部分动画会自动降级为兼容视觉效果。文件操作、拖放与格子核心功能均按 Windows 10 基线验证。
文件结果来自 Everything 的本地索引（IPC 通信）——Everything 需要单独安装，DeskBox 不内置。打开「设置 → 搜索」：可检测或启动 Everything、查看连接与权限状态、指定其可执行文件。应用、系统设置、随记和待办由 DeskBox 原生搜索，不依赖 Everything。
DeskBox 提供性能模式——均衡、资源节省、自定义——可控制隐藏格子的缓存清理、缓存预算和常驻动画。1.5.5 起还有「空闲时修剪内存」选项：真实静默几秒后即向 Windows 归还内存。大批量操作（导入/移动数千文件）的内存占用自 1.5.4 起有界。
- 快照列表显示「密码未保存」：端点已配置但从未保存密码——到「设置 → 维护」重新录入凭据。
- 401 错误：核对账号密码，并确认 WebDAV 服务允许该客户端（部分服务商需要应用专用密码）。
- 服务器已接收但尚未列出的上传会显示「等待服务器确认」，不会伪装成成功。
使用应用内「反馈」入口并附上诊断包。写明 DeskBox 版本（设置 → 关于）、Windows 版本与架构、期望行为与实际行为的差异。
