Troubleshooting
There's no public signup and no email server, so the way back in is through
the container. Find its name with docker ps (marquee-app-1 for Compose,
Marquee on Unraid by default):
docker exec -it <container-name> npm run reset-admin-password -- <new-password>At least 8 characters. It updates the database directly, no login needed, and revokes existing API tokens for that account.
Plex or Jellyfin occasionally files something under the wrong id. On the title page, Wrong match? Fix ID (admin) takes the correct TMDb, IMDb or TVDB id and repoints every synced row to it — no need to fix it in Plex or Sonarr first.
Check Settings → Integrations shows the server connected, then run the sync from Settings → Jobs. Plex and Jellyfin libraries sync in the background and won't be instant on first connect.
Sonarr matches on TVDB ids, and some very new shows have none on their TMDb record yet. Requests for those get the Manually approve path: add it in Sonarr yourself, then mark the request approved.
The bell is filled by Sonarr/Radarr webhooks. Copy the URL from Settings → Integrations into the *arr app's Connect settings, and make sure it's reachable from that app on your LAN.
- The server must be 0.22.0 or later; older ones appear as "Update required".
- macOS asks for Local Network permission on the first scan. If you declined, the app shows how to turn it on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
- If your server is on a different subnet or an unusual port, use Enter address manually.
- Behind a login portal (Authelia, Cloudflare Access), exempt
/api/v1*— see Access from outside your network.
Every user-facing error has a plain-language explanation at /help/errors on
your own instance, linked from the footer.
Marquee is self-hosted and beta — open an issue if something here is wrong or missing.
