Playtesting

Playtesting allows for valuable insights into potential gameplay improvements, based on real-world interactions. Bringing in my peers, who were also working on their Quake maps, added diverse perspectives to the feedback pool.

Playtest 1

  • Scale Feedback: Players felt a sense of vastness in certain areas. Their feedback hinted towards scaling down specific regions to enhance the combat dynamics and player maneuverability.

  • Spawn Points: Multiple players found themselves spawning too close to one another, leading to immediate conflict. The consensus was clear - more spawn points were needed for a balanced start.

Playtest 2

  • Weapon and Item Pickups: A recurring observation was the scarcity of weapons and items. To ensure gameplay longevity and strategy diversification, I acknowledged the need to sprinkle more weapon and item pickups across the map.
