Configuration

Item Where stored / changed Current behavior
Device name NVS; device-name API Persists and is returned by device information.
Network Fallback NVS; fallback API Controls runtime failover/restore, not Ethernet-first startup.
Device password NVS; auth APIs Set, verify, change, and clear behavior exists; not global API authorization.
Wi-Fi credentials NVS; Wi-Fi API Up to five slots can be stored; active boot/fallback path uses slot 0.
RS232 devices %AppData%\FileLinkDiscovery\configured_devices.json Windows JSON persistence.
Remembered passwords %AppData%\FileLinkDiscovery\device_passwords.json Optional plain-JSON convenience storage.

Network Fallback

When enabled, Ethernet loss can trigger a Wi-Fi fallback attempt. A usable Ethernet connection stable for 10 seconds can become active again. A fault state can occur when Ethernet is lost while fallback is disabled or a fallback attempt fails.
