RS232 Devices
The ESP32 supplies one configurable UART1/RS232 transport. It supports raw byte reads/writes, RX availability, TX handling, error counters, and hardware flow control. The Windows Rs232ApiClient maps directly to the HTTP RS232 endpoints without interpreting device protocols.
ProtocolLibrary loads protocol JSON from Protocols/BuiltIn and Protocols/UserInstalled; DeviceTypeLibrary loads and validates device-type JSON. Device types identify a protocol and explicitly opt into supported command IDs.
The supplied built-in software definitions are hp-gl and hp-7550a. The HP-GL package defines 16 command mnemonics, and DeviceProtocolEngine validates device support/arguments, builds bytes, writes them to the transport, and can read a bounded response. HpGlCommandBuilder constructs typed ASCII HP-GL streams.
This is an executable software path. It does not prove physical HP 7550A compatibility or successful hardware testing.
THERE IS STILL A LOT OF WORK/TESTING TO DO HERE. THIS FEATURE IS VERY MUCH AN INCOMPLETE WIP
