Troubleshooting

1. Program does not start / Administrator error

• Right‑click the EXE and choose Run as administrator.
• If you see “This program must be run as Administrator”, the file might not have the required elevation flag. Re‑download it from Releases.

2. Websites still won’t open

• Try -6 first. If it fails:
  • Switch to -5.
  • Enter custom parameters, e.g., -f 2 -e 40 --native-frag --reverse-frag --max-payload.
  • Make sure your antivirus / firewall is not blocking the tool. WinDivert.dll may be falsely flagged → add the EXE (or the whole folder) to your antivirus exclusions.
  • If you use a VPN, temporarily disconnect it.
• If nothing helps, your ISP may use a different filtering method that GoodbyeDPI cannot yet bypass. In that case, consider using Cloudflare WARP or a VPN.

3. “GoodbyeDPI executable not found” error

This error only appears if you built the EXE yourself and forgot to include goodbyedpi.exe.
Make sure the file is placed next to goodbyedpi_gui.py before building, or download the pre‑built release from the Releases page.

4. Auto‑start does not work

• Uncheck and re‑check the checkbox to recreate the scheduled task.
• Open Task Scheduler (taskschd.msc) and verify the GoodbyeDPIManager task. Ensure Run with highest privileges is ticked.
• If you moved the EXE to a different folder, delete the task and create it again through the program.

5. Antivirus removed the file

• WinDivert.dll and WinDivert64.sys are often detected as “hacking tools” (false positive).
• Add the downloaded EXE to your antivirus exclusion list.
