Invention Capture Privacy Policy

Invention Capture records an invention description, transcribes it, and turns it into a structured disclosure. All of that happens on your device.
Invention Capture has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Nothing you record, photograph, type, or generate is transmitted to us or to any third party. We could not see your data if we wanted to, because it never leaves your phone.
Specifically:
- We do not collect personal information.
- We do not collect usage or diagnostic analytics.
- We do not use tracking, advertising identifiers, or third-party SDKs that transmit data.
- We do not create a profile of you and we do not share data with anyone.
Everything is written to the app's private storage on your device:

The captures folder is excluded from device backups. Deleting a capture in the app removes its audio, photos and disclosure together. Deleting the app removes everything.
Speech recognition uses Apple's SpeechAnalyzer and runs locally. Structuring the transcript into a disclosure uses Apple Foundation Models and also runs locally. No transcript, prompt, or disclosure is sent to a remote model, ours or anyone else's. Your content is not used to train any model.
Only when you choose. Tapping Export generates a PDF and a JSON file and hands them to the iOS share sheet. What happens next is entirely determined by the destination you pick — Mail, Files, AirDrop, or another app. Once you send those files somewhere, this policy no longer governs them; the privacy policy of the destination service does.
We receive nothing at any point in that process.
- Microphone — to record your narration. Required to capture.
- Camera — only if you take a photo to attach. Optional.
Photos are chosen through the system photo picker, which does not require photo library access.
Invention Capture is a professional tool and is not directed at children. Because we collect no data at all, we collect no data from children.
Data protection rights such as access, correction, portability and erasure concern data held by a company about you. We hold none. Your data is in your possession on your device: you can read it, edit it in the app, export it, and delete it at any time, without asking us.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
