FAQ

Does it hide my messages from Bale, or encrypt anything? No. It is a visual blur in your browser. It protects against people looking at your screen — in an office, a café, a screen share, a video call. It is not a defence against malware, a compromised browser profile or anyone with access to your account.

Does it send anything anywhere? No. It makes no network requests at all. Its only permission is storage. If your browser has sync turned on, your browser roams the settings object between your own devices, the same as any other extension setting.

Will it slow Bale down? The blur is CSS. There is no per-element JavaScript and nothing watches the message list, so an open tab costs effectively nothing, and messages that arrive are blurred as they paint rather than a moment later.

Why are timestamps and unread badges not blurred? Because they carry no private content and they are what keeps a blurred screen usable.

Can I blur only some conversations? Not yet. The switches are per category, not per chat.

Does it work on the Bale mobile or desktop app? No. It is a browser extension for the web version at web.bale.ai.

Does it work in Safari? Not currently. The packages target Chrome/Chromium and Firefox.

A Bale update broke it. How fast is a fix? You do not have to wait: the options page lets you add your own CSS selector to any category. See Selector Maintenance. Fixes are also welcome as pull requests.

Is it affiliated with Bale? No. It is an independent open-source project. The name describes what it works with; it uses none of Bale's branding.

آیا پیام‌هایم را از خود بله پنهان می‌کند؟ نه. این فقط یک محوسازی تصویری در مرورگر شماست؛ جلوی چشم کسی را می‌گیرد که به صفحهٔ شما نگاه می‌کند.

داده‌ای جایی می‌فرستد؟ نه. هیچ درخواست شبکه‌ای ندارد و تنها مجوزش ذخیرهٔ تنظیمات است.

کند نمی‌کند؟ خیر؛ کل کار با CSS انجام می‌شود و هیچ کدی روی تک‌تک عناصر اجرا نمی‌شود.

چرا ساعت پیام‌ها محو نمی‌شود؟ چون چیزی خصوصی لو نمی‌دهد و نبودش صفحه را غیرقابل‌استفاده می‌کند.

اگر بعد از به‌روزرسانی بله چیزی محو نشد؟ در صفحهٔ تنظیمات، بخش «سلکتورهای پیشرفته»، می‌توانید خودتان سلکتور اضافه کنید. راهنما: Selector Maintenance
