Bookmarks History and Undo
Advanced History provides three related ways to return to an earlier chart.
Bookmarks are named, reusable chart snapshots. A bookmark stores:
- selected areas, devices, and entities;
- start and end dates;
- comparison mode;
- current graph-card settings;
- entity-specific styling;
- graph height and default hours.
Bookmarks are stored by Home Assistant user and synchronized through Home Assistant. The same user can therefore access them from different browsers or devices.
If server synchronization is temporarily unavailable, the bookmark remains cached on the current device and synchronization is retried later.
Use the actions in the Bookmarks dialog to restore or delete saved items. When you load a bookmark and then change its targets, date range, comparison, visibility, or graph settings, an Update icon appears beside that bookmark's delete icon. Select it to replace the saved bookmark with the current chart.
The Save current action remains available, so you can save the changed chart as a separate bookmark instead. Clearing all bookmarks affects the current user's bookmark library.
History keeps up to ten charts that were active immediately before their targets were cleared or replaced. This includes:
- selecting Remove all selections;
- removing the final target;
- replacing the current chart through an entity-dialog Show more action;
- another navigation action replacing a non-empty selection.
History entries contain the same chart, target, date, and comparison information as bookmarks. History is browser-local because it describes that browser's navigation session.
Undo and Redo track incremental changes to the current chart, such as target or graph-setting edits. They avoid filling the History list with every small adjustment.
Undo/Redo stacks are also browser-local. Restoring a bookmark or History entry does not overwrite integration-wide Card Defaults.
