Dates and Comparisons
Advanced History uses Home Assistant's Energy date-selection and comparison controls so date behavior remains familiar and localized.
Select the date label in the floating footer to choose a common range or a custom start and end date. Supported native choices can include:
- Today and yesterday
- This week or month
- Recent rolling periods
- Months and years
- Custom date ranges
Use the left and right arrows to move by the currently selected range. Now returns the current period while preserving its type—for example, the current month when viewing a month.
Open the footer menu and enable Compare. The comparison banner lets you use:
- Previous period
- Previous year
Both generated graphs follow the selected comparison mode. Disable Compare from the footer menu to return to a single period.
Bookmarks and chart History store:
- start date;
- end date;
- comparison mode.
Restoring a saved chart reapplies its period before loading its graph data. A loading banner remains visible until data for the restored range arrives.
When all targets are removed, Advanced History:
- Archives the previous chart.
- Resets the date range to Today.
- Turns comparison off.
- Clears any pending saved-range restoration.
