Go Fish is a fishing expansion for Minecraft. It turns fishing into a dimension-spanning progression system with biome-specific catches, weather and moon events, custom rods, lures, crates, recipes, and new treasure tables.
The original project describes fishing as a slower, manual activity inspired by games such as Stardew Valley and Terraria. This wiki keeps that direction while documenting the behavior implemented by the current multiloader build.
The mod uses Anvian's Lib. Fabric also requires Fabric API. Install the dependency versions that match the mod distribution you are using.
- Craft or obtain a fishing rod and cast it normally.
- Fish in different biomes and dimensions to discover different catches.
- Keep lures in your inventory to apply their bonuses while fishing.
- Look for crates in the fishing loot. Hold a crate item and sneak-use it while looking at air or a block to open it.
- Visit the Nether with a lava-proof Go Fish rod, or fish in the End to access their custom loot tables.
- Cook, craft, and combine catches to unlock better food, resources, lures, and rods.
- New fish for the Overworld, Nether, End, full moons, rain, thunderstorms, snow, and high elevations.
- Nether lava fishing with specialized rods and fireproof catches.
- Nine extended fishing rods with different durability, sounds, experience, auto-smelting, and lava-fishing properties.
- Three inventory-based fishing accessories: Simple Lure, Golden Fish, and Soul Lure.
- Twelve crates containing resources, food, equipment, rods, fish, and rare rewards.
- Custom food, cooking, crafting, and fish-to-resource recipes.
- The Deepfry fishing-rod enchantment.
- A
/fishcommand for operators and a fishing-focused advancement progression. - A Go Fish creative tab containing the mod's registered items.
- Fishing — Core fishing rules, dimensions, biomes, weather, moon phases, and bonuses.
- Fish-and-Food — Catch catalog, food effects, and practical fish uses.
- Rods-and-Lures — Rod statistics, lures, Deepfry, and fishing bonuses.

/fishand the advancement progression.
Go Fish is designed around active fishing rather than unattended farms. Rare rewards should make a fishing trip exciting without replacing mining, exploration, combat, or other progression routes. Rods, lures, recipes, and dimension-specific tables provide gradual reasons to keep exploring.
