Keka can be used from the context menu. Just right click on a file or folder and choose between:
- Send to Keka ⌃⇧K: this option will automagically choose to extract or compress
- Extract using Keka ⌃⇧X
- Compress using Keka ⌃⇧C
The context menu has a system "Compress ..." option that will use the bundled macOS compressor.
This option WILL NOT be used with Keka. You need to use the Keka services instead of this option.
The context menu services should be enabled and visible by default, in case they're not:
- In the menu, Open the System Preferences
- Go to the Keyboard preferences
- Click on the Shortcuts tab
- In the left list, select the Services item
- In the right list, locate the Files and Folders section
- Check all the Keka options you need
In case you don't use them, or just use one of the, they can be disabled:
- In the menu, Open the System Preferences
- Go to the Keyboard preferences
- Click on the Shortcuts tab
- In the left list, select the Services item
- In the right list, locate the Files and Folders section
- Uncheck all the Keka options you don't need
For versions prior to 1.1.0, you can install an automator service:
- Download it from here: https://legacy.keka.io/contextmenu
- Bu sure you have this folder:
/Users/[YOUR_USERNAME]/Library/Services
- Extract the context menu file
- Choose your preferred language
- Copy the workflow to the folder in the step 1
