Why

Independent review of the C-1 chain returned GO with one residual (DN-1): shipped consumer surfaces still named the KEEP-AIF'd best-practices-sidecar and the renamed docs-auditor as ours, contradicting the merged resolution (#79/#82). Deferred in #79's commit body, never closed by #82, tracked only in that commit body. This closes it (DN-1 Option A).

Changes (shipped surfaces only)

  • skills/rules-as-tests/ (ships via install.sh): SKILL.md + references/{checks-map,self-testing-docs,doc-organization}.md
    • docs-auditorliving-docs-auditor (our rename)
    • best-practices-sidecar re-credited → AIF rules-sidecar (reads RULES.md) + edit-time ESLint + the aif-rules-check skill-context residue (KEEP-AIF: it is AIF's, not ours)
  • agents/compliance-verifier.md:75 — illustrative grep example updated to current shipped agents
  • Fixed 3 pre-existing MD040 bare-fence violations (ASCII diagrams → text-fenced) surfaced by lint-staged on the touched files

Out of scope (separate task)

  • AUDIT-CHECKLIST.md / AUDIT-PROMPT.md (internal, not shipped) reference best-practices-sidecar as audit logic (grep targets / expected-states), not prose — partly obsolete post-KEEP-AIF, need a logic refresh not a name-swap.
  • Frozen/historical docs left untouched per doc-authority §4.

Verified

  • markdownlint 0 errors; check-skill-drift PASS; full pre-push green; no stale OUR-agent refs remain in shipped skills + compliance-verifier.md.
  • Docs-only; discipline-self-check does not fire (skills/agents outside its path filter).

Independent review of the C-1 chain (GO verdict) surfaced the one residual: shipped
consumer surfaces still named the KEEP-AIF'd `best-practices-sidecar` and the renamed
`docs-auditor` as ours, contradicting the merged resolution (#79/#82). This was deferred
in #79's commit body but never closed by #82 and was tracked only in that commit body.
Closes it (DN-1 Option A):

- skills/rules-as-tests/ (shipped via install.sh): SKILL.md + references/{checks-map,
  self-testing-docs,doc-organization}.md — `docs-auditor` → `living-docs-auditor` (our
  rename); `best-practices-sidecar` re-credited to AIF `rules-sidecar` (reads RULES.md) +
  edit-time ESLint + the `aif-rules-check` skill-context residue (KEEP-AIF: it is AIF's).
- agents/compliance-verifier.md:75 — illustrative grep example updated to current shipped
  agents (review-sidecar / living-docs-auditor / compliance-verifier).
- Fixed 3 pre-existing MD040 bare-fence violations (ASCII diagrams → ```text) surfaced by
  lint-staged on the touched files.

Out of scope (separate task): AUDIT-CHECKLIST.md / AUDIT-PROMPT.md (internal, not shipped)
reference best-practices-sidecar as audit *logic* (grep targets / expected-states), not
prose — those audits are partly obsolete post-KEEP-AIF and need a logic refresh, not a
name-swap. Frozen/historical docs (docs/audits/*, closed-questions.md, self-application.md)
left untouched per doc-authority §4.

Prior-art: skipped — prose reconciliation of shipped docs to an already-merged decision, no new capability/dep/code; closes the #79-deferred prose drift surfaced by the C-1 chain review.

…efore #101 landed (#108)

The niche-strategy roadmap (#101, merged 2026-05-21 18:09) listed N6a (C-1 impl)
and N4a (claim-detector fix) as pending/urgent, but both had merged earlier the
same day: N6a via #79+#82+#83/#84/#85 (incl. live-probe DECISION-NEEDED #2 passed),
N4a via #98 (detector v2, validated against committed eval baseline). Adds a
post-merge STATUS RECONCILIATION banner + inline DONE markers across N4/N6/§5,
without rewriting the original analysis. Remaining N4 work = N4b (gate) only.

Prior-art: skipped — docs status-reconciliation only, no new capability or dependency introduced.

…verdict (DEFER-all-with-updated-triggers) (#281)

Cross-variant synthesis consolidating Sub-waves A/B/B'/C (merged PRs #267/#268/#275/#276). Per-variant verdicts re-derived independently per T15: A=REFERENCE (28%), B=REJECT (~5%), B'=REFERENCE conditional ADOPT VOCABULARY (~35%), C=REJECT (~22%). Cross-variant recommendation per kickoff §6.5: DEFER all variants with updated SSOT «Trigger to revisit» fields.

Includes 20-cell comparison table (4 variants × 5 criteria, file:line citation per cell), 4-row T16 problem-class match table, DN-1 (B-constrained) + DN-2 (B' is operative B-path) reflections, hook-discipline (Decision 10) analysis (no equipoise → recommend on clearly-better evidence; DECISION-NEEDED NOT warranted), consolidated SSOT additive notes for #27/#28/#30/#44/#67/#80, proposed new SSOT row #85 (next-after-#84 verified).

Prior-art: prior-art-evaluations.md#27, #28, #30, #44, #67, #80 (existing aif-handoff entries, additive-note-only — no verdict changes); SSOT row #85 PROPOSED, not landed.
