Connect to github Repo

Steps to connect oci local folder with github repo.

Step 1. Create New Repository oci-terraform.

Step 2. Initiate git init code editor

git init

Step 3. Clone the git

git clone  https://github.com/arunsinghchauhan38-arch/oci-terraform.git

here we clone our remote repo into the local folder

Step 4. Add remote origin

git remote add origin  https://github.com/arunsinghchauhan38-arch/oci-terraform.git

Step 5. Stage the git

git add .

Step 6. Status check

git status

Step 7. Commit

git commit -m "initial commit"

When we run this command a error will come "Author identity unknown" to resolve this issue we will provide the user email id and user name details

git config --global user.email "arunsinghchauhan38@gmail.com"
git config --global user.name "Arun"

again run command

git commit -m "initial commit"

Step 8. Push

git push -u origin master

after run command asking for the username. so for username we will provide our github account username. after giving username its asking for the password of our github account. so we will provide the our github account password.

Step 9. Go to Github window

In github window we see master and main branches.

master represent our local folder root branch main represent our git repo root branch
