v1.0.1 — The Covenant, Explained
Endrise v1.0.1 — The Covenant, Explained
The 1.0 candidate, now with JEI integration.
New
- JEI support. Every Endrise recipe already appeared in JEI (they're all vanilla types); now the covenant explains itself too. Info pages for the mechanics that aren't recipe-shaped: where Enderium Ore hides and how it glimmers, what the void gives back, how End deaths become Mourning Blooms, what the Draught and the Homeward Pearl actually do, what the Upgrade Template's renewable source is, and everything enderium gear carries (Soulbound, pearl-damage negation, void return). Fully optional: nothing changes without JEI installed.
The soak
This replaces v1.0.0 as the 1.0 release candidate; the one-week alpha soak restarts from today. Same rule as before: if it soaks quiet, this exact jar gets promoted to full release.
Both jars: MC 26.1.2 (NeoForge 26.1.2.87, JEI 29.x) and MC 1.21.1 (NeoForge 21.1.244, JEI 19.x).
v1.0.0 — The Way Home
Endrise v1.0.0 — The Way Home
The covenant closes its circle. After your gear, your drops, and everyone else's graves, it's your turn.
New
- The Homeward Pearl. An ender pearl wrapped in four Void Petals and four enderium ingots. Use it anywhere, in any dimension, and arrive at your own respawn point: bed, anchor, or world spawn if the bed is gone, resolved by vanilla's own rules. Consumed on use (creative keeps it), five-second cooldown, ender chime at both ends. It dismounts you first, it never spends a respawn anchor charge, and it can never roll the credits: that belongs to the portal.
- Enderium is quietly awake. Ore and Blocks of Enderium shed slow reverse-portal motes from any face that meets open air, with a rare resonant hum. A vein glimmers into the cave before you can read its texture.
- The advancement tab is complete. Eight nodes walking the whole arc: Buried Light, Deeper Than Diamonds, Bound, The Tier Above, Nothing Is Lost, There and Back, Someone Was Here, The Way Home.
Fixed
- The advancement tab background rendered as the missing-texture checkerboard on 1.21.1 (a form mismatch that had been there since 0.4). It shows the End now.
- Using the pearl while riding on 1.21.1 would have wasted it; it now dismounts you first, like chorus fruit.
The 1.0 candidate
This build is feature-complete: the arc Endrise set out to tell is told. It ships to the alpha channel for a one-week soak; if nothing breaks, the listing gets promoted to full release with this exact jar. If something does break, say so loudly in the issues: spacing, loot rates, bloom density, draught duration, and the pearl recipe cost are all still open to argument.
Both jars: MC 26.1.2 (NeoForge 26.1.2.87) and MC 1.21.1 (NeoForge 21.1.244).
Thank you for dying in the End with us. Nothing was lost.
v0.7.0 — The Cenotaphs
Endrise v0.7.0 — The Cenotaphs
Past the void gaps, a small ruin. Polished walls, the Mourner's Relief, blooms at the base, a lantern still burning over a grave slab. Someone was here before you. It didn't end well. Take what they carried.
New
- Cenotaphs generate across the outer End (midlands, highlands, small islands — never the dragon's island). Four ruin variants: a walled vigil plot, a waygate arch, a ring of broken pillars, and a collapsed hall. No mobs. The silence is the point.
- Lost-traveler gear: every cenotaph chest holds one named piece — Marren's Pick, What Isla Carried, Beruna's Edge, nine others — worn to 30–70% durability. About 40% still hum with Soulbound, and the covenant honors the mark on any metal: a looted Soulbound iron sword comes back from death just like enderium does. (Applying Soulbound yourself still requires enderium gear; the graves are the only place the mark rides plain steel.) One traveler in twelve made it far enough to carry enderium.
- Chests also carry Void Petals (2–4), raw enderium (2–5), and a 15% chance of an Enderium Upgrade Smithing Template — the first renewable (not farmable) template source.
- Advancement: Someone Was Here.
Under the hood
- Cenotaphs use their own structure type that checks its footing before generating: no floating ruins, and
/locate endrise:cenotaphnever points at a grave the void already took. - Structure templates are authored once at the 1.21.1 data version and upgraded forward automatically, so both jars ship byte-identical ruins.
Tell us
Spacing is set so each find feels like a find (34/12). If cenotaphs feel too rare or too common in your worlds, argue with us in the issues — this number is a first guess, and so are the loot rates.
Both jars: MC 26.1.2 (NeoForge 26.1.2.87) and MC 1.21.1 (NeoForge 21.1.244).

What's new
- Mourning Blooms: when a player dies in the End, a bloom sprouts on the nearest end stone. Your deaths leave flowers; on a server you'll find your friends' stories before they tell them. Rare natural constellations grow in the outer islands. Grows only on end stone, glows softly, bonemeal duplicates it, pots welcome
- Void Petals: one bloom crafts into two
- Draught of Return: a Void Petal + glass bottle, no brewing stand. Drink it, explore for 90 seconds, and the expiry snaps you back to where you drank, ender chime and all. End-only: leave the dimension and it fizzles. A second draught re-anchors where you stand, and says so
- Advancement: There and Back
Tune this with us
Bloom density (about one constellation per six chunks), draught duration (90s), and the petal costs are first guesses. If the End feels like a meadow, or the draught feels useless or broken, say so: real playtime beats theorycrafting.

- Enderium Lantern: light level 15, teal embers that drift upward
- Full stonecutter support (end stone cuts into the entire family) and complete recipe-book unlocks
- Polished End Stone is stonecutter-only from end stone: the 2x2 crafting grid stays vanilla's (End Stone Bricks are untouched)
Build something worth mourning.

Endrise 0.4.1: The Void Explains Itself
Quality-of-understanding patch, straight from the first real playtest.
What changed
- Die in the void carrying enderium that is not Soulbound, and the game now tells you what happened, in enderium teal: "The void keeps what is bound to no soul."
Why
The covenant has two doors, and the first thing everyone tests is jumping in holding their gear. That is the death door, and death belongs to Soulbound. Thrown, dropped, or lost enderium comes back on its own; died-with enderium comes back only if you bound it first (Soulbound book: 3 enderium ingots + 2 ender pearls + a book, applied at an anvil). Now the game teaches that rule at the exact moment you would otherwise file a bug report. No gameplay changes.

Endrise 0.4.0: The Void Gives Back
The void loses its claim on enderium.

What's new
- The void gives back: enderium gear and materials you drop, overthrow, or lose to the void teleport back to you 8 seconds later, same chime as Soulbound. Panic-dropping your gear while falling works: that case is captured the instant you let go
- The despawn timer gives back: enderium items left on the ground return instead of despawning
- Fire gives back: raw enderium, ingots, and templates now float in lava, netherite-style (gear already did)
- Died-with gear stays Soulbound's business: death drops never ride the void path; the covenant has exactly two doors
- Ender pearls cost nothing while wearing any piece of enderium armor
- New advancements: Buried Light and Nothing Is Lost
- Teal "Returns from the void" tooltip on everything the End protects
Fixes (found by adversarial review, affected 0.2.x-0.3.0)
- Soulbound returns delivered while you sat on the death screen were silently destroyed on respawn; deliveries now wait for the living
- The return store could crash the server on world save while a return was pending
- Dropped-item ownership markers can no longer be laundered off (or onto) death drops via stack merging

Endrise 0.3.0: The Enderium Tier
The tier above netherite. The End keeps what's marked, and now the mark is the metal itself.

The Enderium Tier
- Nine new items: enderium sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots, with their own teal-and-purple look, in hand, worn, and in the new Endrise creative tab
- Upgrade, don't enchant: netherite gear + Enderium Upgrade Smithing Template + enderium ingot at the smithing table, exactly how diamond became netherite. Enchantments and durability carry over
- Stats sit one honest notch above netherite (a little more durable, faster, sharper, tougher); fire resistance kept
- Soulbound is enderium-exclusive now: the enchant, the anvil, and the death-return only answer to enderium gear
Breaking change from 0.2.x (alpha honesty): gear "infused" or trimmed under the old marker system loses Soulbound eligibility. The items themselves load fine and keep their enchantments; run them through the smithing upgrade to bring them into the tier. The old trim cosmetics still render.
Fixed
- The enderium trim palette shipped value-inverted in 0.2.1 (highlights and shadows swapped); legacy trims now shade correctly
- The upgrade template sprite had 8 stray transparent pixels and an off-style gray plate; repaired and recolored
- Enderium ingot and raw enderium re-drawn on proper vanilla silhouettes (the old ones read undersized/pearl-like)

Endrise 0.2.1: Anvil hardening
The anvil stops leaking Soulbound.

Fixed
- Item-to-item anvil combining could smuggle Soulbound onto non-infused gear by using a soulbound tool as the sacrifice. The anvil now refuses that, the same way it always refused soulbound books on non-infused gear
- The intended path (soulbound book onto enderium-infused/trimmed gear) and ordinary anvil repairs are unchanged
New
- Update notifications: the mod now publishes an update JSON, so NeoForge's mods screen will flag newer Endrise versions from this release onward
- A headless anvil self-test ships in the repo:
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS=-Dendrise.selftest.anvil=true ./gradlew runServer

What's new
- Enderium armor trims: enderium ingots are a trim material, any pattern, at the smithing table
- Enderium tool infusion: craft the Enderium Upgrade Smithing Template (7 end stone + popped chorus fruit + ingot), then smith it onto diamond/netherite tools. Keeps enchantments and durability
- Soulbound: craft the enchanted book (3 enderium ingots + 2 ender pearls + book), anvil it onto infused or trimmed gear. When you die, that gear skips the drop and teleports back into its original inventory slots 8 seconds later. Survives server restarts. Void deaths included
- Soulbound never appears in enchanting tables, and the anvil refuses non-infused gear
