Twilio

Twilio is a service that allows you to send text messages using a REST API. You can sign up for a free account from their website, which is also where you will receive the SID and token needed. The Twilio config requires an SID, token, and two phone numbers.

The account SID is available on the first page you see upon signing in, as is the auth token (though this part will be hidden by default).

The two phone numbers that you need are the one that will send the message and the one that receives it. To get a Twilio phone number, go to the "Phone Numbers" tab in the web console. As of Feb 1, 2020, you can get a limited use number for free.

The config should now look something like this (assuming US residency for the phone number format):

[[notifiers.twilio]]
  ## Account SID
  sid = "0000000000000000000000000000000000"
  ## Account auth token
  token = "00000000000000000000000000000000"
  ## Phone number for your Twilio account
  twilio_number = "(000) 000-0000"
  ## Phone number that should be texted with the notification
  send_to = "(000) 000-0000"

  ## HTTP response timeout (default: 10s)
  response_timeout = "10s"
