Credits and License

Applies to every version of Regalia Slots API.

License

Regalia Slots API is licensed under LGPL-3.0-or-later, the same licence as the project it is forked from.

Both halves of that licence ship with this repository:

  • COPYING — the GNU General Public License, version 3
  • COPYING.LESSER — the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3

LGPL-3.0 is the GPL-3.0 plus the additional permissions listed in COPYING.LESSER — the licence text says so itself. Shipping one without the other leaves the licence pointing at a document nobody has, so both are included, verbatim and unmodified.

Credits

Regalia Slots API is a fork of Curios API by TheIllusiveC4.

All credit for the original design and implementation goes to TheIllusiveC4. This is a port and rebrand of their work, not an independent implementation of the same idea.

Regalia Slots API is not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, TheIllusiveC4 or the Curios project.

What was changed in the fork

The fork is a rename, not a rewrite. Everything below was changed; everything not listed was kept.

Before After
Java package top.theillusivec4.curios com.skd.regaliaslotsapi
Mod id curios regalia_slots_api
Classes Curios* RegaliaSlotsApi*
Assets and data assets/curios/, data/curios/ assets/regalia_slots_api/, data/regalia_slots_api/

Notably kept verbatim: LGPL headers, and NBT and datapack strings. Preserving those is what lets a world played with real Curios keep its equipped items after the swap — see Curios Compatibility.

Attribution

Required by the LGPL, and honoured in all three places:

  • this wiki,
  • the project README,
  • the CurseForge description and the credits field in the mod metadata.

Third-party code

The compatibility layer contains a verbatim copy of Curios' top.theillusivec4.curios.api package — 42 files in the 1.21.1 shape. That is deliberate and required for binary compatibility with third-party mods compiled against real Curios. It remains TheIllusiveC4's work under LGPL-3.0.

Trademark

Curios and TheIllusiveC4 are the property of their respective owners. Their use here is attribution, not endorsement.
