Datapack Loading
Applies to Utility Nexus Admin 1.2.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).
Every datapack found in:
<gameDir>/datapacks/
is injected into every world automatically — client and server alike.
The problem it solves: Minecraft's datapack system is per-world. To give every world the same pack you
normally copy it into each world/datapacks/, or maintain a copy per world and remember to update
them all. This puts them in one folder and they apply everywhere.
There is no per-world toggle and no per-world copying. The packs are always enabled.
All under [datapack]:
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
autoLoad |
true |
Master switch. false and the global folder is ignored entirely. |
validateOnLoad |
true |
Validate pack structure before injecting; skip invalid ones with a warning. |
createMissingMetadata |
true |
Generate a default pack.mcmeta if a folder pack has none. |
With validateOnLoad on, a pack is checked before it is injected:
-
pack.mcmetamust parse. - a
data/directory must be present.
An invalid pack is skipped with a WARN in the log, and the rest still load. One broken pack does not take the whole set down.
If a pack you expected does not appear, the log is where it says why. That is the first place to look.
With createMissingMetadata on, a folder datapack missing its pack.mcmeta gets a default one
generated, at pack format 48.
ZIP packs without a pack.mcmeta cannot be repaired and are skipped. That limit is real and worth
knowing: a zip is binary and the mod will not rewrite inside it. If you need a zip to work, add the
pack.mcmeta yourself.
Under the /una datapack subtree — see Commands and Config:
list |
Show what is loaded. |
load |
Load one pack. |
loadall |
Load everything in the global folder. |
reload |
Reload. |
unload |
Unload a pack. |
validate |
Validate without loading. |
commands.enableDatapackCommands controls whether the /una datapack ... subtree is registered at
all. Turning it off removes the commands but not the automatic loading — those are separate
switches.
They are ordinary Minecraft datapacks. Nothing about them depends on this mod, so a world remains valid and readable after you uninstall. The only thing lost is the automatic injection.
This uses the standard datapack mechanism — it does not invent a parallel one. A pack loaded this way
is indistinguishable from one placed in world/datapacks/, including its pack.mcmeta requirements
and its ordering relative to other packs.
