Forced recompilation

I'm trying to force recompilation independently from source changes using clean + compile. This doesn't work because it behaves as compile followed by clean (apparently). Using {clean,compile} doesn't work either.

I suspect I'm still confused about task execution and caching. Why does compile run before clean? And how do I achieve the forced recompilation I want (short of ./mill clean && ./mill compile)?

./mill clean && ./mill compile is the only way right now, as tasks get passed to Mill and run in arbitrary orders and possibly concurrently
