Release list
Fork build: main (e3669a9)
Built from main at e3669a9 (run kushagrasinghx#62). Includes a universal Android APK; without production signing secrets it is the separate BitChord Dev app.
BitChord v1.10.2
BitChord v1.10.2 makes the desktop app usable from the keyboard alone, and fixes keys not reaching the window after switching workspaces on Wayland.
- Keyboard navigation: Ctrl+1 to 8 opens the sidebar pages in order (Home, Explore, Library, Spotify when enabled, Search, History, Downloads, Local Music); Ctrl+9 opens Settings.
- Click anything by keyboard: tap Ctrl on its own to label every clickable item on screen (albums, songs, buttons, menus), then type a label to click it. Backspace takes a letter back; Esc, a click or another Ctrl tap closes the labels. The sidebar shows each page's Ctrl digit while the labels are up.
- J and K scroll the page, D and U by half a page. Shift+H and Shift+L go back and forward through visited pages, and the mouse's forward button now works.
- Under niri and other compositors using xwayland-satellite, Space and the other shortcuts now work right after switching back to the window, without a click first.
- The keyboard shortcuts sheet (?) lists the new keys.
- Android version code increases to 30. Windows installers use package version 1.10.32.
Downloads:
- Linux: AppImage, DEB, and RPM.
- Windows: EXE installer, MSI, and portable ZIP with a bundled Java runtime.
- Android: signed universal
BitChord-android-dev.apk.
On NixOS, run the AppImage through appimage-run.
Full changelog: v1.10.1...v1.10.2
Built from aafdb62.
BitChord v1.10.1
BitChord v1.10.1 is a small desktop fix release.
- The Keyboard shortcuts sheet (
?) now closes with Esc, or by pressing?again. Before, it could only be closed with a click, because Esc only reached the app through whatever held keyboard focus inside the window. - Android version code increases to 29. The universal BitChord Dev APK (
com.dev.bitchord) uses this fork's existing signing key and updates v1.10 installations. - Windows installers use package version 1.10.31.
Downloads:
- Linux: AppImage, DEB, and RPM.
- Windows: EXE installer, MSI, and portable ZIP with a bundled Java runtime.
- Android: signed universal
BitChord-android-dev.apk.
On NixOS, run the AppImage through appimage-run.
Full changelog: v1.10...v1.10.1
Built from 06e876d.
BitChord v1.10
BitChord v1.10 brings the desktop memory improvements to matching Windows, Linux, and Android builds.
- Lower desktop idle memory use through tighter JVM and artwork-cache budgets and Linux native-memory trimming.
- Canvas video frames avoid redundant pixel copies and release older native bitmaps promptly; backdrop and palette snapshots retain their own pixels.
- Linux packages also include a shorter launcher classpath to fix a native launcher crash before Java starts.
- Android version code increases to 28. The universal BitChord Dev APK (
com.dev.bitchord) uses this fork's existing signing key and can update v1.9.0-fork.2 and v1.9.0-fork.3 installations. - Windows installers use package version 1.10.30.
Downloads:
- Linux: AppImage, DEB, and RPM.
- Windows: EXE installer, MSI, and portable ZIP with a bundled Java runtime.
- Android: signed universal
BitChord-android-dev.apk.
On NixOS, run the AppImage through appimage-run.
Full changelog: v1.9.0-fork.3...v1.10
Validation: all Windows, Linux, and Android release CI jobs passed. APK version and signature match the persistent fork key. The corrected Linux launcher and final AppImage start successfully on Ubuntu 22.04 with software rendering; DEB/RPM launcher configurations were verified. Windows MSI version, bundled runtime, native libraries, and model files were checked. SHA-256 checksums are included in SHA256SUMS.
Built from 93a5d54. The Linux generated launcher configuration was corrected during packaging.
BitChord v1.9.0-fork.3
Android now shares songs, Replay summaries, and recently played tracks as unbranded 1080 × 1920 story cards.
- Song: long-press a song or open its ⋮ menu, then choose Share.
- Recently played: open History and tap Share story.
- Replay: open Replay and choose Share my Replay.
Choose Artwork, Colour, or Dark, then Save the card to your gallery or Share it through Android's share sheet. Song cards also offer Share link. Local tracks and downloaded songs can make cards too, and cards still work without cover artwork.
The APK is a universal BitChord Dev build (com.dev.bitchord), signed with the same persistent fork key as v1.9.0-fork.2. Install it over that APK without uninstalling. Its Android version code is increased to 27.
The Linux AppImage is rebuilt with the matching version number. On NixOS, run it through appimage-run.
Full changelog: v1.9.0-fork.2...v1.9.0-fork.3
Validation: 989 Android, 443 desktop, 50 shared, and 5 signing tests passed. APK signature and both release artifacts verified.

BitChord v1.9.0-fork.2
Built from 6703a21, the latest main commit.
- Keep Spotify song matches across pages and app restarts, with bounded storage and safe concurrent writes.
- Share songs, Replay summaries, and listening history as story cards, with safer image export and clipboard handling.
- Add desktop loudness normalization.
- Android now checks this fork's numbered releases and downloads the matching APK for in-app installation.
Downloads:
- Linux:
BitChord-1.9.0-fork.2-linux-x86_64.AppImage, built on Ubuntu 22.04 with a bundled Java runtime, codecs, Automix analyser, and models. On NixOS, useappimage-run. - Android:
BitChord-android-dev.apk, a universal release APK for BitChord Dev (com.dev.bitchord), signed with this fork's persistent key. If your installed Dev build predates this key, uninstall it once before installing this APK; subsequent releases use the same key.
The AppImage uses a compact launcher classpath to avoid a native launcher crash with a long dependency list.
Validation: 1,475 tests passed (50 shared, 443 desktop, 977 Android, and 5 signing tests). Both packages were checked for their release version and contents, and the APK's signing certificate was verified against the persistent fork key. The packaged desktop app passed startup, home-screen loading, and JavaFX initialization under a virtual display.

BitChord v1.9.0-fork.1
Desktop update — 1.9.0-fork.1
- Enable Spotify in Settings → Account, then add your account through an installed browser.
- Browse Spotify playlists and Liked Songs, play matching YouTube Music recordings, and import playlists locally.
- Choose Brave alongside Chromium, Chrome, Edge and Vivaldi for Spotify and YouTube Music sign-in.
- Refresh Spotify credentials through the web player and cancel playlist matching when needed.
Linux and Windows packages were rebuilt from 70c66ef.
The release tag now matches the numbered fork version so desktop update checks can detect it.
The existing working Android APK is retained, keeping its signing certificate and avoiding a reinstall for this desktop update.
Validation: all 477 local shared/desktop tests passed, plus the release build covering Linux, Windows and Android.
