This page explains the specifics of combat encounters in Delta Green. General information on combat encounters in Foundry VTT can be found in Combat Encounters.

Note

Combat will be completely revised and automated as part of an upcoming system update.

Initiative

Before clicking Start combat on the Combat Encounters tab, click Roll All to sort all combatants by their Dexterity rating.

Before rolling Initiative for all combatants:

After rolling Initiative for all combatants:

Attack

To make an attack, click the dice icon next to the weapon your character is using, then check whether the attack succeeds. If the attack has a penalty, right-click the dice icon and adjust the roll.

Alternatively, you can attack in either of these ways:

Important

The Delta Green system does not currently support targeting. If you want to automate the combat at this moment, use the module Delta Green Automation.

Damage

To roll damage, click the damage roll button on the attack chat card or click the dice icon next to the weapon's damage/lethality value. Damage must be reduced manually.

Important

The Delta Green system does not currently let players damage another actor. With Delta Green Automation, the Handler can set a target on the agent’s damage chat card and apply the damage to that target.

Armor

Armor reduces damage from ordinary attacks by its Armor Rating. It also protects against damage from a failed Lethality roll, but not from a successful one.

Since damage is calculated manually, subtract the armor value from the damage.

Cover

Cover isn’t shown on Actor sheets or in chat cards. Subtract the cover’s Armor rating manually from the damage. Against a Lethality attack, the Lethality roll automatically fails, but the attack still deals the sum of the dice as damage.

Armor Piercing Weapons

An armor piercing weapon reduces the Armor value of a target by 3 or more. The Armor Piercing value of a weapon appears on damage chat cards, but it is not yet applied automatically, so you still need to account for it manually.

Why does the 'Lethality' roll show damage even on a success?

For Lethality, the d100 roll against the target threshold is resolved like a normal skill test. Regardless of the result, the non-lethal damage value, such as 2d10, is still shown in parentheses because lethality does not affect some creatures.

Note

Lethality rolls do not currently account for the effects of a critical attack roll. For example, on a critical Firearms check with a weapon that has 10% lethality, the threshold doubles to 20%, and if that check fails, the resulting damage also doubles.
