Installing Sprint Boost

This page explains how to install Sprint Boost on Sprint Console using the standard Sprint update flow.

Important install note

Installing Sprint Boost replaces the console’s active jzintv with Sprint Boost’s customized jzintv build.

The default emulator is not deleted. It is preserved as jzintv_sprint.

The provided jzintv_sprint in the package is the jzintv 1.2 rev3 Alpha version.

Files you need

Sprint Boost provides a package named Sprint Boost Quick Start.zip (exact location in the repository/releases may change).

Inside that package is another zip named update.zip.

You use that inner update.zip with Sprint Console’s normal update process.

Install steps

  1. Download Sprint Boost Quick Start.zip.
  2. Open it and extract the included update.zip.
  3. Copy update.zip to the root of USB Drive you use for Sprint Console updates.

💡 If the USB is the same drive you use for sideload games, add the boosted folder from Sprint Boost Quick Start.zip at this time as well.

  4. Run Sprint Console’s official update process using that update.zip.

Reminder, after update, remove or rename the update.zip file on the USB to prevent the update from running on each boot up.

After install, Sprint Boost jzintv is active, and jzintv_sprint is present as a fallback option.

Rollback / back out

To remove Sprint Boost behavior and return to Sprint default emulator behavior:

  • Apply an official Sprint update.zip using the same update process.

Full disclosure on cleanup

Applying an official Sprint update to back out Sprint Boost should restore default jzintv, but will leave the extra jzintv_sprint file behind (harmless).

If you want a full cleanup, use Sprint’s full reset approach (Wipe_All), following official Sprint guidance.
